However, I also consider it useful that tutors help develop new study habits and introduce new ways to learn whilst tutoring in a way that the student…

Inside Albany CreekTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Izzy focused on balancing equations and multiplication/division practice, with some targeted work on timetable questions.

In Year 10, James worked through geometric sequences and compound interest calculations, including constructing compound interest tables to visualise growth over time.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Emily revised matrix operations—specifically matrix addition and multiplication—as well as reviewing flow matrices ahead of an upcoming test.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student did not complete any work on a major assignment, despite the due date being imminent—this led to last-minute stress and limited time for meaningful feedback.

In Year 12 mathematics, as one tutor noted, "he forgot which log laws were needed for each question," with overthinking causing hesitation during problem-solving rather than efficient recall.

A Year 4 learner's working was sometimes messy in multiplication tasks; untidy layout made addition steps harder to track and errors crept in unnoticed.

In a senior class, missing practice exams before sessions meant less targeted revision could be achieved together.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Albany Creek recently saw a Year 10 student move from needing reminders about the simple and compound interest formulas to independently applying both during assignment work, even transferring his knowledge between them for tougher problems.

In Year 6, Izzy began reciting her times tables without relying on a grid—a big step up from previous lessons where she hesitated to try without support.

Meanwhile, a senior high schooler started choosing the right logarithmic laws on her own when solving exponential equations, whereas before she often mixed them up or waited for prompts.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Anusheel been tutoring Ramin for a few sessions now and  as you said it will take a few months to notice. However, so far Ramin is happy. He is having his year 11 final exam this week and Anusheel is doing a good Job, thank you.

Hello Erica, Thanks for touching base. Isabella is great. She's gelled really nicely with Meg, who is already saying that for the first time she understands why things are done a certain way, rather than just being told to do it. I'll let you know if any issues arise but at this point I can't see any at this stage. Cheers

Thank you for the follow up. Tegan is doing great and Thanaa is happy with her tutoring. Thank you for all the help.
