The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is be attentive to their needs. Being able to listen and understand a student's struggle with learning can help guide a tutor in creating an effective lesson plan which will, in turn, produce a successful outcome. My strengths include: - my passion for wanting to help others - my highly…

I want to cater to that student's needs. I think it is extremely important to ask what the students' goals are. You need to know the direction they want to go in order to meet their needs. Then take their goal and break it down into achievable pieces that they can accomplish. Lot of students get overwhelmed in math and my goal is to make them…

Truly the most important thing any tutor can do for a student is to help create and cultivate a growth mindset. By doing this, students become lifelong, innovative learners. This certainly occurs in the classroom, but teachers are expected to do this to upwards of 20+ children. Tutors are important to students because they assist in expanding…

The most important thing a tutor can do is to inspire passion; a person who is sincerely interested in a subject and has a drive to continue delving into it will naturally go much further and achieve much higher then an unmotivated genius no matter the intellect as they will enjoy the entire journey of learning and not just focus on the results. I…

I think the best tutors teach at a speed that the student requires. If a tutor is impatient, not only does it reduce what the student learns but also discourages them from asking for help. Tutors need to accommodate each specific student, as each one is different. I have been studying for a Bachelor of Law/Arts for the past four years. This study…

It is most important to make the student enjoy the lesson in a way that they would not think of it as obligatory but rather make the students truly want to learn. Also, a tutor should acknowledge the students hard work and struggles, not only their high results. I am very patient since all children have different speeds when it comes to learning.…

Tutoring is a noble occupation. My experience with the previous tutoring has taught me many things that can be really important for a student. Not every child is able to cope with his/her studies and routine. Being a student of Psychology, I prefer encouraging and motivating them to do better each day. Some students tend to trigger their fear of…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to develop their problem solving skills. I think that I am very good at meeting the…

Provide adequate motivation and encouragement. A tutor is only half responsible for the student's progress, and the student is responsible for the other half through their own work and perseverance. It is therefore crucial that a tutor teaches not only content, but also good work ethic to a student by encouraging and motivating them to work hard…

I believe the most important things a tutor can provide are motivation and discipline. I might not be the smartest tutor, but I’m there to accompany my students, help them trust themselves, remind them of their goals, and keep them disciplined in their studies whenever they feel lost. Some of the strengths that I believe are quite necessary for a tutor other than leadership are resilience, and the ability to properly analyse a students learning…

First of all, communication is definitely vital in order to engage with tutees. Before any information exchange can take place, both parties should be able to relay their thoughts and express their opinions as clear as possible to avoid misconceptions. This skill is essential in the case of tutoring, as most of the knowledge exchange are only…

I think a tutor has a lot of power in empowering a student and making them love learning and love the subject. If a tutor can reorient a student's perspective of a certain topic and make the student learn it, it enables the student to engage more with the subject and hopefully increases their passion for learning and education in general which I…

Local Reviews

We are travelling around Australia with our 11 year old daughter, and needed just a little help with homeschooling. I had previously downloaded the free yr 6 maths worksheets ( which were great), and so when we decided to get some extra help, Ezymaths was my first call ( even though I had done significant research into other providers). From the first call, right through to now, after roughly 10 hours of online tutoring, the whole experience has been outstanding!! The staff at Ezymaths have been friendly and helpful, and our tutor, Jessica, is brilliant with our daughter who really looks forward to the sessions. Because of our travelling, we were unable to commit to a set schedule, but Jessica and the team have been great and very accomodating with booking sesssions to suit. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND EZYMATHS TO ANYONE CONSIDERING TUTORING SERVICES........ especially if you are travelling!

Inside BundallTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Chloe practised calculating probability of events and identifying independent events, working through problem-solving questions.

For Year 11, Olivia focused on sketching piecewise functions and determining the equation of a circle while preparing for her upcoming exam with mock test questions.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student James reviewed applications of differentiation by tackling optimisation problems—such as finding maximum area using the second derivative test—and revised the use of product and chain rules in complex scenarios.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student relied heavily on the calculator during practice, leaving him "lost in how to simplify expressions" when technology was not allowed; he also rushed through solutions without checking, missing small errors that could have been caught with a slower approach.

For a Year 11 learner, confusion arose when integrating multiple functions or switching between pdf and cdf on probability tasks—using the graphic calculator felt unfamiliar and sometimes overwhelming.

In Year 7, a student's written work lacked correct notation and clear mathematical communication, making it harder to build up full problem-solving questions from start to finish.

Recent Achievements

A Bundall tutor noticed one Year 11 student who used to hesitate when tackling unfamiliar mock test questions now independently chooses and applies integration techniques, even asking for clarification only after giving each problem a solid attempt.

In a recent high school session, another student showed clear progress by preparing targeted summary notes ahead of time—something he'd struggled with before—and came to the lesson with specific problems ready to discuss.

Meanwhile, a younger student who was previously unsure about inequalities managed to solve one on her own after just some guided practice, showing she's starting to trust her process.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Southport Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Surfers Paradise State School.
