Maths Tutor Leichhardt, QLD
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to increase understanding of the subject and inspire their interest to further pursue their studies in their own time. My greatest strength as is tutor my patience. I understand that every student has different strengths and some will require more time than others to reach their…

Maths Tutor Leichhardt, QLD
The most important thing is approaching the task not simply as a series of questions to be answered, but instead as a dive into the nature of what is being learned and its applications to the world, which fosters a much greater depth of understanding and encourages curiosity above all else. I do not have a standard technique for learning that…

Maths Tutor Augustine Heights, QLD
The most important thing I can do for my students is leaving them feeling confident and self-sufficient. They can't rely on tutoring forever and I hope to prepare my students by turning them into independent critical thinkers who can always ask questions as well as find their own answers. My strengths are my patience and my ability to improvise…

Maths Tutor Camira, QLD
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is being supportive and encouraging. I’ve always had amazing teachers throughout my schooling and they’ve helped me achieve many of my academic goals, I hope to do the same one day. I’m patient but perseverant, I always make sure the person I teach understands the topic…

We're very happy with Om so far. He's really personable, seems to know his stuff, and my daughter enjoys working with him.

Inside BundambaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Summer worked on BODMAS with a focus on how brackets affect calculations, and explored spatial patterns using practice questions from her math book.

Year 9 student Aryan revised fast calculation tricks for squaring numbers ending in 5 and multiplying two-digit numbers by 11, then moved into an introduction to Pythagoras' Theorem.

For Year 10, Priya practised applying the Pythagorean theorem to right-angled triangles—using worksheets and calculator skills for sin, cos, and tan—and converted angles between degrees, minutes, and seconds.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student, when revising algebra, often skipped writing out full steps—"he said he could do it in his head," which made sign errors harder to catch and fix.

In Year 11 trigonometry, a student relied heavily on calculator shortcuts for basic problems rather than practicing manual solutions, leaving gaps in understanding during tests.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner avoided writing working out in long division, hesitating to try unless prompted, especially after making an error; her confidence dipped noticeably after an assessment task.

Missed or incomplete homework was also noted at both primary and senior levels, delaying progress between sessions.

Recent Achievements

One Bundamba tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 10 student who had previously struggled with complex trigonometry word problems—he's now solving them independently and even mastering new surface area topics.

In Year 8, another student started off hesitant with angle questions in polygons but, after some guidance, was able to work through the problems solo for the first time.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who used to wait passively for help is now jumping in with her own strategies during long division tasks and self-corrects mistakes without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Sean has been a blessing, firstly gaining James trust and allowing him to open up in a safe environment and confront his difficulty with Maths, and then by showing him that math has practical uses and that there is nothing to fear. Without Sean's guidance James would not have progressed so far this year, and we are truly grateful. I wish Sean all the best with his studies and what I am sure will be a successful career.

Corey is enjoying his tutoring with Lital she motivates him and visually works with materials for him which seems to be working. He has only had 3 sessions so over time hoping to see some success.

Kirra is really benefiting from Payal already so we are very pleased! Exams start next week so hopefully just her confidence boost will help and then by Nov she should really see results. Thank you once again!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Redbank Plaza Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Queensland Pathways State College - Bundamba Campus.
