The most important thing is to make an individual understand the concept of the problem rather than individual problems so that they don't feel nervous when they a similar problem is presented in front of them. The whole point is that the child should feel comfortable around you and not hesitate to ask even the silliest questions, because no…

*Be a mentor, rather than a tutor. My aim would be to gain the trust of my students so that they do not feel even a tad bit shy or hesitant in sharing their queries and problems they encounter in the course of their studies. *Encourage students to ask questions, and answering them to the best of my abilities, without any hint of exasperation on…

I think the most important things a tutor can do are to help students build confidence, develop a positive mindset, and feel safe and supported in their learning. Encouraging them to ask questions, embrace mistakes, and believe in their ability to grow is so important. Every student is unique, and it's essential to provide personalized support…

It is to not only to help them get the right answers, it is to make them understand the ‘why’ so they can think critically and solve problems independently. I think first and foremost is adaptability. 2. Discipline comes after once you get adapted. 3. Communication with easing out the complex concepts. 4. Listening their problems and catering on them. 5. A teacher has to be patient while working with a student 6. At last but not least, humility is one of the most important thing when it comes…

I believe it's important to provide clear and simple explanations, as well as to instil confidence in students' minds, as it empowers them to embrace challenges and achieve their full potential. Confidence encourages students to see learning as manageable rather than difficult. They need to enjoy what they do. According to my ex-students'…

Be supportive whilst you're teaching them, in terms of chatting to the student and making sure they're comfortable enough to tell you all parts of the problem that they're struggling with. If a tutor doesn't make the student feel comfortable and supported then they are less likely to get the most out of the tutoring. I am punctual and reliable so…

Being a friend! Most students whom I’ve thought have confessed they gained more knowledge from me as they considered me to be more than a teacher as I had a great understanding from their point of view and tried to do more in class and reduce workload at home to balance their lives and education. I believe as a tutor, it is important to teach the subject to the student in a way that is enjoyable while still delivering the knowledge across. It is important that the tutor is not simply feeding the student equations or tricks to achieve good marks, but that the tutor is helping the student understand the topic enough to be able to solve…

Students who need a tutor have different problems. They may be not so confident with their self-study or their academic performance. I respect my students…

To teach them a concept and allow them to add their own thoughts and perception to the given teaching. Local Reviews

Ezy Math Tutoring have been extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Very professional with their communication and efforts to find the right tutors to fit my son's needs. The tutors themselves have made a big difference to my son's school performance and have always been reliable, knowledgeable, relatable and friendly. Highly Recommend.

Inside ChadstoneTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 Mason practiced reading comprehension by answering questions about short stories and tackled subtraction problems from his maths workbook, also focusing on letter formation in handwriting.

In Year 11, Ash reviewed dramatic techniques in Greek tragedy—exploring catharsis and the tragic hero—and studied leadership styles and organisational structures for business management using real-world examples.

Another session with Ash (Year 12) focused on applying business management concepts to exam-style case study scenarios, discussing how different organisational approaches impact outcomes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student preparing for Business Management SACs struggled with time management, leaving some exam questions unfinished and rushing essay structure—"needed more precise argument progression," one note read.

In Psychology, another senior hesitated to put definitions in their own words, making revision less effective.

A Year 9 student's homework was repeatedly incomplete; when asked about it, they admitted motivation had dropped after missing earlier deadlines.

In Years 3–4 maths, several students avoided writing working for addition and subtraction problems ("did the maths in his head and couldn't explain reasoning"), leading to confusion and slow progress when faced with new question types.

Recent Achievements

Ash has started setting her own goals and now organises all her work ahead of time—something she hadn't done before—so she's fully prepared for assessments in business management.

In Year 11 English, another student who used to struggle with structuring essays was able to funnel her ideas into three clear topic sentences during an essay planning session.

Meanwhile, Mason managed to read two chapters aloud of an illustrated novel with minimal help after previously needing frequent prompting on each page.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Phoenix Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Salesian College Chadstone.
