i find it very important that a tutor makes the student feel comfortable to be able to ask questions, allowing them to feel confident in their ability to complete the content. i find myself very approachable and an easy going person which allows the student to be comfortable asking any questions of concepts or problems they are unsure…
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to believe and have faith in the student that they can learn and achieve anything they put their mind to. My strengths as a tutor include patience, understanding, and tolerance. I understand the way the student currently thinks and help them to bridge the gap to think in the way…
Able to quickly and efficiently spot what a student has concerns or problems with their school content and quickly tackle the issue by solving it effectively in a fast manner. I try to lay out every step the student needs to be careful when solving a particular problem and outline specific errors they must avoid making. I am able to adapt to the…
Teaching a certain topic with efficiency and clarity. I also believe that it is important for a tutor to be able to motivate his or her student and make them excited to have tutoring sessions instead of dreading them. I am an enthusiastic individual and will come to each session with a positive attitude. I am also a clear communicator, which I…
I consider one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is build their confidence. Once this is established and the student has faith in their own abilities, the tutor is able to guide and facilitate their learning as a pose to simply instruct. The role of the tutor is to recognise what the student is capable of doing on their own…
To be responsive and constructive, I felt that I learned the best when I felt connected with the teacher and the class. It can be distracting to feel uncomfortable whilst learning. I would say that having a personalized connection helps students feel more confident in the teacher and attentive to the information being said by the teacher. As I…
The most important things that a tutor can do for a student are:
- Showing empathy and support (sharing one's own experience as a past student from a perspective of strength, resilience and learning)
- Promoting empowerment - this means not doing questions for a student, but engaging them in shared decision-making about working through…
Varying teaching methods to provide students with a greater opportunity to learn is important. Every student has different strengths and weaknesses. Instead of just focusing on one method that only appeals to a single learning style, varying teaching techniques can cater your lessons to different learning styles. Students will be more successful…
Understand what they need help with and then be able to help them learn in a way which best suits them and enables them to learn most effectively as every student is different and learns differently. My strengths are previous experience with working with kids which has taught me various ways on how to help them as well gaining effective…
The most important thing for a tutor to do for a student is to make things interesting.
Make learning fun and easy to understand.
Be understanding.

Beyond helping students excel in specific subjects, a tutor plays a crucial role in boosting their confidence and supporting their long-term educational goals. With a background in engineering, I possess the ability to approach problems from various angles and develop effective solutions. I strive to create a friendly and supportive learning…
I believe that the overarching role of a tutor is to have a lasting, positive impact on a student, and this is possible through various means. Firstly, they can support the student academically, by guiding them through difficult or foreign concepts step-by-step. Through this, a tutor can immensely improve a student's self-confidence and engagement…
The most important things a tutor can do is that he should be ready to help him/her out whenever he/she needs. That includes even giving them extra hours or multiple sessions so that all of help is provided to him/her. A tutor should always come prepared for tutoring session to maximize the learning experience. A tutor should always be open to…
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to provide them with the one-on-one attention that is not given to them in schools with large class sizes. The student needs to be able to feel comfortable enough to ask questions (even the embarrassing ones) and they need to know that the tutor will sit with them for as long as it takes to…
One of the most damaging things one can do as a tutor is establish a blind hierarchy with their student. A tutor does not impart facts and knowledge, he or she attempts to come, along with the student, to a mutual understanding of a concept and I find that much more constructive if you approach this from a peer perspective rather than an…
I believe that a good tutor has the the ability to help students build confidence for the classroom, and inspire them to be the best that they can be. Another thing that is important to me is not belittling the student or making them feel "stupid" for not understanding, but instead relating to them and helping them find a different way to solve…
The most important thing for a tutor to do is to know what not to do.Never should a tutor discourage any participation or disapprove of the theories initiated by the student. The most important task of a tutor is to first introduce the student to the student then indulge in activities and quiz for the participation of the students followed by…
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is.
Allow students to make mistakes, and making mistakes is not really a terrible thing. Even many mistakes are the best process for students to learn. And the student makes mistakes and reflects on them so that what he gains is what he can gain for himself. What do you think…
In my view, the most important things a tutor can do is listen patiently to the student, guide them in the right direction, build trust, encourage, and support to drive to excellence. I would consider my strength to be that firstly, I establish a rapport with the children which makes them feel comfortable and in a friendly environment. Then I try…
I reckon the most crucial things a tutor can do for a student is spending time with them, listening, sympathising, effectively communicating and building connections with them. School curriculum is not designed for any particular students, so many of them can't study the way they find the most suitable and easiest for them, resulting in the need…
A tutor is there to build confidence, in my opinion. Regardless of the comments of parents, teachers, siblings, a tutor should believe in their students and empower them to perform at the highest level capable. That is what the best tutors achieved for me, and what I continue to do for my own students today. I think the best tutors, particularly…

We are very happy with Baily.
She is very competent in math, but is also a very good teacher. She makes learning fun and the boys' relationship with her is developing well.
As a person, Baily has a lovely manner about her, is very respectful, but confident.
We are happy with Jordan so far. He seems to have acknowledged the areas Kate has problems with and is giving her homework tasks for these, as well as helping with some current class topics. She already seems to be feeling better about maths.
We're really happy with Rachel, and Sophie is relating to her well. We are seeing positive results in Sophie's math grades at school already.
