The absolute best thing a tutor could do for a student would be to turn around the fear of a certain subject to a love for it. Anything a tutor does to debunk the mystery, confusion or difficulty a student is struggling with in a subject or area is a pursuit well worthwhile. My strengths would be my friendly, easygoing and approachable nature and…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to teach the student to enjoy learning, and impart a good studying method. I think the most important thing a tutor can give a student is confidence. However, this is not just a feel self-assurance in their learning but a confidence and self-security to be wrong. The imperative of tutoring is not to build knowledge but to create an environment for learning, this means allowing students the freedom to express their…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be patient in the teaching and learning process. Being able to teach or solve a problem in more than one way is important to determine which method is the most helpful for the student, as each individual learns in their own way. I have been tutored before, so I know what it is…

Being able to engage the student in the lesson and making sure they actually understand. Learning should be a fun process if not it should be made as fun as possible. Local Reviews

EzyMath Tutoring has been my first experience in engaging a tutor for my son, who is in year 8. He loves maths, but can take a little longer to grasp concepts and I wanted to ensure that he kept up with modules so that he remained commited and engaged. Our tutor, Sakshi, has been such a pleasure to work with - calm, skilled and able to engage positively with my son. After just three sessions I'm seeing my son's confidence grow and his grades improve. Highly recommended! The support from the EzyMath Tutoring team has also been fantastic.

Inside Mawson LakesTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 12 student Isabelle completed work on the chain rule and product rule for differentiation, and moved ahead with integration problems from Chapter 4 of the Haese textbook.

Year 11 student focused on trigonometric graphs and functions using the Year 11 Haese text, as well as extending understanding of probability and binomial expansions.

For Year 4, Bianca practised fractions alongside multiplication, reinforcing concepts through targeted worksheets and simple problem-solving questions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Maths, one student showed reluctance to bring schoolwork to sessions, making it harder to identify gaps—"need to bring school work so I can see where she is at at school."

For a Year 8 student, forgetting or not completing assigned homework has slowed progress in mastering new algebraic methods.

In primary years, another learner hesitated with times tables revision and sometimes left practice incomplete; "hesitant on completing more homework," noted a tutor.

During calculus tasks in senior years, skipping steps when inputting equations into the calculator led to minor but recurring bracket errors, which went unnoticed until review.

Recent Achievements

One Mawson Lakes tutor noticed a high school student who used to wait for guidance now attempts maths questions independently, showing new initiative by tackling unfamiliar problems solo.

In another recent session, a Year 11 student who previously hesitated to ask for clarification is now openly seeking help on tricky topics before assessments, which helped her achieve a test score she felt genuinely proud of.

Meanwhile, in primary years, a younger learner who struggled with time-reading last month was able to confidently read 24-hour time and solved addition word problems without prompting during their latest lesson.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Greenacres Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Martin's Catholic Primary School.
