A tutor should try to think like a student tutor should try to get into the child’s mind, mostly a tutor should try to bend according to the child’s need because if a tutor is just like a machine then they won’t be able to critically analyse where the child is unable to grasp the knowledge so it’s very very important that a tutor should…

One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is make students enjoy the subject if not they will not be able to grasp the concepts well enough. Ensuring communication is sound and fixing student doubts then and there so they don't persist is how one can nurture enjoyment in a student. Also making sure the class isn't frigid and…

Apart from many things, confidence to then be able to take back into the classroom, and real world. A tutor usually has a much smaller class to handle, so can develop greater relations with the students and clearly understand what each student needs to excel. My clear articulation, enunciation of words are a huge part. I also believe I am very…

The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is getting to know and understand each specific student in depth. As every person learns differently, it's important for tutors to understand their individual students because this what separates a tutor from a teacher, the personalized teaching style. I would say to keep the student intersted and excited about learning. You have them invested in the subject and half your job is done. Teaching doesnt have to be monotonous, mundane and boring. I am smart, young and very well spoken. I speak from a place of confidence and can be very entertaining for kids/youth. I would like to think I am quite…

I feel that the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to act as a source of information throughout their time of studying. School can be, and often is, stressful, even if you love the subjects being taught and the teachers teaching them. Therefore, I think the role of a tutor hinges largely on offering support and passing on…

Give time to the student. Clear doubts if any in their mind. I believe in hierarchical learning of a concept. First let the students solve the easy to medium difficulty questions confidently and then go on to the tougher ones. By breaking the tougher questions into small easier parts, student can understand it better First and…

As each student is unique it is important to assess their level of learning, identify the areas where they are lacking and then provide suitable tutoring. While teaching a tutor must implement a teaching plan which suits the student. A tutor must not only look into academics but also the general wellbeing of the student. My excellent communication…

I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is identify each student's individuality and therefore handle them uniquely, with utmost care and understanding. I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is create a space where the student feels completely comfortable being themselves. They should be able to openly say what they do and don’t understand without fear of judgment. This honesty is what allows us to help them in the best way possible. Beyond that, a tutor should always aim to build…

The most important thing apart from helping the student understand that they can solve things on their own, is teaching the student how to study the subject. Firstly, a tutor has to be able to understand the student's needs and then personalise a learning plan/ style that works for the student - one size does not fit all! Secondly, the tutor needs to guide the student not get them to parrot generic question answers. It's about building the students confidence up, through positive encouragement, and…

It is most important to provide a comfortable space for students to make errors and learn, while also providing the motivation and space for studying to be completed. I focus on relatability but have also completed my QCE with relatively good grades and understand high school content. On top of this I have limited energy for tomfoolery, while…

Local Reviews

When we wanted some tailored math support for our daughter and contacted the Ezymath team, we were placed in contact with local tutors in less than 24 hours. The monthly reports can be quite comprehensive too -and the team is always ready to answer any follow up questions you may have. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ezymath to anyone wishing to give their child a boost!

Inside Middle ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Orlah worked through probability and statistics, including box-and-whisker plots and five-figure summaries.

For Year 10, Samuel reviewed trigonometry by combining bearings with SOHCAHTOA and practiced using sine and cosine rules for non-right triangles.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Ava focused on solving and plotting linear equations as well as calculating gradients and y-intercepts from graphs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often forgot to bring essential materials, like their textbook, which meant lessons relied on makeshift resources.

In Year 11 Maths, a tutor noted: "He sometimes thinks he knows the material beforehand," leading to missed steps when new concepts were introduced.

One Year 7 student consistently wrote working in cramped spaces during long division; this caused errors that had to be retraced later.

For SAT preparation (Year 12), homework was left incomplete and feedback not acted upon, so gaps in rearranging equations persisted into practice sessions—leaving accuracy and confidence shaky under timed conditions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Middle Park recently saw Monet, a Year 8 student, start tackling her homework without waiting for prompts—something she'd previously hesitated to do.

In Year 10, one student who used to rush through negative number problems took extra time this week and managed arithmetic with negatives much more accurately.

Another high schooler made a noticeable shift: after weeks of uncertainty with bearings and trigonometry, Saskia confidently combined bearings and SOHCAHTOA methods to calculate distances on her own for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Middle Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Middle Park Primary School.
