The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is providing the tools which will help the student achieve his academic goals. Patience is probably my greatest strength as a tutor. Also the fact that I attended an international school at a young age and was in a melting pot of cultures, languages and ideas; taught to me to have an open…

Being patient and making friends with them so that they can learn abstract course like math more easily. Besides, examples and real cases should be provided to help students understand some complicated theory. I am a patient person who can teach young people by giving examples and practical cases until they fully understand and apply what I teach…

A tutor should adapt to the learning style that is required for each individual and work to build the student's confidence in their ability. The provision of a supportive environment in which student's feel empowered to ask questions and articulate their needs is critical to a fruitful and successful partnership. Having worked in both academia…

The most important thing I think is teaching students the way to get to the end. In this case the end is not only the correct answers of questions but also the way to solve hard problems throughout our daily lives. My first strength is the deep understanding in maths and sciences area. I not only know how to do the questions step by step, but I…

The most important part of tutoring in my opinion is being able to adapt to different students requirements, and noticing what each student needs most from you. Some students need someone to slowly work through problems and teach them the process, while others need someone to help enforce good habits and routines rather than purely just teaching,…

I feel that the most important things a tutor can do for a student, especially a student in high school is to reduce stress. Tutors can help strengthen subject comprehension, boost confidence, and build important learning skills. A tutor gives students individualized attention that they don't get in a crowded classroom. This helps children who struggle to keep up, as well as those who aren't challenged enough. My communication skills, and understanding for the emotional…

Encouragement. Encouraging my students while building their confidence is the most important thing that I will do for my students. Local Reviews

So confused in what tutors have to offer did alot of researching came across EzyMath tutoring caught my eye thought I would give them a go called up spoke to there friendly staff had someone contact me straight away from head office and a date was made to meet my girls and see how our first trial session would go. My girls loved it, I personally think one on one is the way to go and kids learn better we meet our tutor Silvana and went thru some school work on what my girls need help with best decision made. Ezymath also do a monthly feedback review on what they reach our kids so us as parents know our child progress which is excellent to see Well done team ;)

Inside MirrabookaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 student Jay worked on building confidence with fractions and NAPLAN-style questions, using visual models to support understanding.

In Year 8, Alice focused on revising algebraic expressions, including expanding and simplifying terms of x, as well as tackling fraction operations.

For Year 10, Marcus practiced solving problems involving direct and inverse proportion and completed revision activities on percentages to strengthen his foundational skills for upcoming assessments.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student preparing for Math Applications relied heavily on memorising steps, but during practice tests, struggled to recall methods under pressure—"she needed to fall back on methodology during test conditions."

In Year 10 Biology, limited access to school materials made it hard to revise deeply; a lack of structured notes led to time spent searching rather than studying.

For a Year 7 student, not writing out full workings in algebra hid errors and slowed feedback: "be more willing to write down working for responses."

Motivation sometimes wavered when teacher support felt lacking, especially after tough lessons.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Mirrabooka noticed one Year 11 student who'd previously hesitated to tackle essays alone found a new voice in their writing, trying out more original ideas instead of sticking to safe templates.

In a recent session with a Year 10 student, after struggling with note-taking all term, they practiced the process step-by-step and finished their first complete set without prompting.

Meanwhile, a younger student who'd often fallen behind managed to get ahead on maths work for the first time this year—choosing to attempt extra problems before being asked.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thank you all for your professionalism, patience and humor when engaging with our daughter! Who can make Maths more fun? Frank can! Cassie has blossomed!

Our daughter Marleen has finished her tutoring as she finished her HSC with great results: well above her predicted ATAR. A big thank you to Gordon who did a fabulous job tutoring chemistry!

Alexandra has benefited greatly from her tutoring over the last semester. It has helped to boost her confidence and she has improved significantly.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mirrabooka Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Dryandra Primary School.
