To me, the most essential role a tutor can fulfill is that of an enabler and empowerer. I believe a tutor's primary goal should be to provide students with a strong foundation of knowledge and a resilient problem-solving framework, not only to tackle academic challenges but also to navigate any obstacle life may present. An empowering tutor equips…
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be there for them. If a tutor chooses only to communicate with a student within the designated hour-long session, there is a good chance questions will be forgotten before the next session and eventually left unanswered. This is why a clear and uninterrupted communication line is valuable…
Teaching them according to how they learn best and providing them with support and motivation to achieve their goals. My communication skills and my ability to adapt the style of teaching that I apply in order to suit the student's learning…
To Help them build confidence, provide them with the tools to succeed and enable them to solve problems effectively independently Patience, organisation, dependability, ability to vary my approach and integrate ICT and flipped classroom/backward design approaches…
I believe one of the things a tutor should find important is to help find coping mechanisms the students can use to ease their exam anxiety. As well as that I believe a tutor should work at the pace that best suits the student rather than the tutor. I believe that I am an outgoing, confident and kind person who can get along with all types of…
Always be prepared to explain everything as many times as it takes. Speaking thematically for English and finding alternative methods for maths. I did four unit English in my HSC, as well as topped maths at Sydney Grammar School, so I can cover all bases. 98.45…
I believe a tutor should be fully committed to each students' improvement and in doing so, also act as a mentor to meaningfully guide students. One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is listen so as to understand any shortcomings in their approach to the content being taught. Any tutor can teach the content, but the most…
The most important thing a tutor can do is be patient and personable with the student. Tutoring is very different from a school environment, in that the benefits that exist are going at a pace that is suitable to the student's needs. Tutors are understanding and can target specific difficulties in a student's learning. We also not only identify…
I think the most important thing for a tutor to do is to continue to provide ongoing support for its student. The tutor needs to help the student through their educational journey by providing extensive resources for their students in order for them to grow to become successful students. I am quite flexible with my time which allows me to help my…
Tutoring can be challenging, especially when it comes to motivating your learner. You see the potential they have, and they often hear about the potential they have, but they do not feel as though they got what it takes. Living in such a busy and demanding time can often make us feel the time constraints on everything we do and we expect our…
Instill a deeper understanding and appreciation of the subject. Those are the foundations upon which the rest is built. Strengths: I love kids and I love maths. I believe I'm quite adaptable and am happy to modify how I teach depending on the learning style of the student.
Weaknesses: As of yet I still don't have much experience, particularly in…
As a tutor cannot take exams or do homework for the student, the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to have faith in the student's ability and assist the student in every way possible to ensure that the student has faith in their own ability to achieve their goals. Patience, passion and empathy. Patience as it takes time to…
The fun part of my job is getting to know my students and getting to understand them. As a tutor and mentor it is our job to make sure our students achieves the highest grade possible, but we must remember. It is also our duty to nurture and guide them on the right path into their future. We must keep in mind each students have their own struggles…
I consider above all listening to the student and what they do and don't understand to be most important, in order so that I as a tutor can direct my attention and teaching where it is needed most. In terms of long-term goals however, I consider instilling the student with diligence, resilience and a mentality to succeed in the future to be the…
Teach obviously! but i think if the tutor can make the lessons as fun as possible so that the student looks forward to them as something enjoyable rather than as purely work, the best results will occur. I am an excellent communicator and can teach via example quite effectively in almost any subject. I am easily able to match my communication…
I consider the most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to create an environment where learning and education is associated with personal growth, mastery and support. In addition, I feel that a great tutor can translate the student's content and materials into information that is accessible and easier to understand. I am a…
a tutor must strive to find what a student lack and try to complement it. For example , a slacking student , in most cases, might be just lacking vision for his future. A tutor must guide him towards setting targets for himself. I am able to identify learning styles of…
It's important to always listen to the student and understand their perspective on what they are studying. It's important to figure out why they are finding it challenging and work together to overcome those obstacles. At the same time, it's essential to encourage and guide the students to feel confident in their abilities and believe that they…
I joined EzyMath more than 2 years ago. The admin has always been around to help and replied to my emails promptly. I was offered a number of students, few of which I continued for 2 years. My biggest accomplishment as an EzyMath tutor was to help students grow, as well as benefit from it for my own growth. I started tutoring a student when he was starting his year 7 and tutored him till he was starting year 9. I hope that the student benefited from my guidance, but there was a lot I could learn from the session as well. Working with young children has been a tremendous benefit since they possess such vibrant energy.
I came to work at EzyMath as a uni student looking for a part time work. EzyMath was professional, motivated and constantly taking feedback from the tutors and the students to enrich the tutoring experience for all. I would certainly recommend tutoring for EzyMath, for both clients and prospective tutors.
I chose to work with EzyMath because it was very flexible and I could fit it around my uni schedule. Tutoring has really helped me learn how to explain concepts effectively and also greatly improved my leadership and communication skills. Witnessing my students' gradual improvement in not only their technical skills but their confidence in the subject was extremely rewarding. I would recommend EzyMath to fellow tutors and prospective clients.
