To care for them! Even at school my favourite teacher, who was my art teacher, was the most caring teacher throughout my senior year as she not only taught me to adapt teaching styles to each student but also looked out for my whole class throughout exam times (trials and HSC too). If I didn't care about my students, I wouldn't teach them to the…

We decided to use EzyMath when our daughter started High School. We were partnered up with a fabulous tutor. She made Maths enjoyable and easier to understand as well as being easy going and friendly. On dealing with EzyMath head office on a monthly basis, they were professional, prompt with dealing with any queries and very accommodating. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a tutor.

Inside AbbotsburyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Jamie worked on applying Pythagoras' Theorem to various triangle problems and used Venn diagrams for calculating probabilities.

In Year 10, Sarah focused on graphing parabolas by identifying intercepts and turning points, then practised shifting parabolas horizontally and vertically.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Jonathon revised the laws of logarithms through challenging practice questions and tackled differentiation problems using first principles.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student hesitated to start solving questions in class, leading to delays: "He takes too long to take the first step, to start."

In senior English (Year 11), another found it difficult to link analysis directly back to the question and struggled with using PETAL effectively for short answers.

For Year 8 maths, one learner relied on brief, one-word responses and rarely voiced his reasoning aloud—confidence issues limited deeper discussion.

Meanwhile, a Year 12 student over-complicated straightforward calculus problems, causing her to get stuck rather than progressing smoothly through differentiation tasks. The moment stretched out as uncertainty replaced momentum.

Recent Achievements

One Abbotsbury tutor noticed a Year 11 student has become much more independent, now walking through her thought process out loud and explaining solutions step-by-step—something she rarely did before.

In another session, a high schooler who used to hesitate when faced with new question types started attempting every problem on his assignment, even if unsure, showing real initiative instead of waiting for guidance.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 student who previously guessed at answers is now confidently asking questions whenever he gets stuck and was able to finish all the percentage problems in his pre-test without any help.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I would like to thank you for providing 2 excellent tutors for Nerys over the last 2 years in particular Christina. Christina has been excellent, not only is she a lovely person who shows patience she has catered to Nerys learning style and the proof is in the pudding . Nerys has improved dramatically. She has moved up in class ranking and she is now confidence and able to understand maths concepts more easily. please pass our gratitude to Christina.

Ethan is settling in very nicely with working with Jordan, who is very professional, friendly and approachable. Ethan is comfortable working with Jordan and is beginning to gain a little confidence in his approach to maths, so we are more than happy to continue working with him.

Georgie is really enjoying coaching with Gabrielle. She's already doing so much better in maths at school (her teacher has commented on the huge improvement at recent parent teacher conference!). Gabrielle is a real asset to your team. She's so polite, punctual, intelligent and just fantastic.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Green Valley Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Edensor Park Public School.
