Be supportive and believe in them wholeheartedly but at the same time not spoon feed them and sugar coat the level they are at. I believe the best thing a tutor can do is be realistic and set realistic goals for the student so that they work towards a common goal. I believe that I become a trustworthy friend to the students and they are able to…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to address their needs and help them achieve their goal to the best of their ability. For this to happen there needs to be a clear understanding of what the student's goal(s) is and from there begin establishing a solid foundation for communication. It is important to maintain this…

The most important thing is to make sure that the student has completely understood the concept. It is useless to move forward if they don't understand the basics. I think adapting to students learning style is vital to allow for the most growth in their education. Tutors are exceptionally valuable as the one on one or small class dynamics allow for the specific needs of a student to be catered for, giving their learning attention in a way that can be difficult to access within the schooling system alone.…

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is serve as a secondary teacher/mentor to a school teacher. As school teachers have to focus on a large class (usually around 30 students), they are unable to address the needs of each student. As each student has their own struggles and needs, an exterior tutor provides…

The key benefit of a tutor is that they can provide individualised support for a student. Tutoring sessions can make a student feel heard and understood which is so important in a student’s journey through self discovery in their schooling years. As a tutor,…

The most important thing a tutor can do is believe in the student. This along with teaching them the value of hard work is significant as it pushes a student to access their potential knowing that they are supported. The value of hard work is also an imperative that should be conveyed through the tutors lessons regardless of the content taught. I…

Inside BankstownTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Ali worked on decimal multiplication and tackled a worksheet focused on decimals.

In Year 8, Sarah practiced expanding sums in surds and indices as part of her introduction to Year 10 Maths.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Emily explored protectionism's effects on the economy and learned how to structure an economic essay, with a focus on clear written arguments.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 mathematics, a student often forgot to bring completed homework and sometimes left essential materials behind, leading to lost time settling in before starting algebra tasks. As one tutor observed, "He gets demotivated and distracted quite easily," which became noticeable during multi-step problem-solving sessions—especially when new content was introduced.

A Year 11 student working on trigonometry hesitated to show working for unfamiliar problems; this made it hard to pinpoint calculation errors, so misunderstandings persisted longer than necessary.

During primary English revision, another student avoided tackling harder vocabulary, instead repeatedly practicing only familiar words—a comfort zone that slowed their reading growth.

Recent Achievements

One Bankstown tutor recently saw a Year 9 student who used to hesitate when stuck on equations now openly asking questions until she gets them right, instead of quietly guessing.

In Year 11 English, a student who struggled to explain her ideas is now clearly articulating her text analysis and even building arguments with more detail than before.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who often rushed through writing tasks has begun taking extra time to check for errors and has started reading her finished work aloud without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Ally's tutoring is going well and Gopi is very nice. Ally's report was very positive and that makes me happy. I have spoken to Gopi about Ally's progress and informed her that we would like to extend Alexandra in Maths.

My Son Tomi is enjoying tutoring lessons with Mehrab & is keen to do homework tasks she sets for him as he has an understanding of what he is doing. Mehrab is very professional & her teaching methods are fantastic. It's early days however Tomi is enjoying attending maths classes at school & I can see his confidence building up as he used to get very anxious when he knew he had a maths class, now he has an interest in Maths & I am very grateful to the great tutoring service your company provides. I look forward to many more lessons & will definately recommended your tutoring services to friends of mine. Thank you so much.

Ethan is thoroughly enjoying his session with Ivana. The confidence and positive way he approaches the work, I credit to the way Ivana relates to him. She is engaging and positive. We appreciate all your hard work!!
