I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is making sure they have enough confidence and belief in themselves to replicate the work you do together, by themselves. This in the end is the most beneficial skill when it comes to school, because self doubt holds back so many students. Being able to break down concepts into bite…

According to my belief, assisting students in uncovering their hidden abilities and guiding them towards their desired path is the utmost responsibility of a tutor. Establishing a strong bond with the student, tutors have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and emphasize the significance of education, ultimately encouraging them to strive…

A tutor must be able to evaluate the teaching techniques which are most effective and suited to the individual. They must be able to adapt to the student's learning pace and style to help the student strive to achieve their goals. I can support and encourage students to always do their best in whatever task they encounter. By increasing…

Sometimes getting tutored can feel embarrassing or humiliating to students, so it is vital that they are empowered and encouraged, without giving too much of a teacher-student dynamic, but just a friend who is going to help them. It is important for tutors to understand how students think and find ways to relate the problems/difficult subjects to…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to listen. A tutor's job is not to just teach the student, but to bring out the best of the student and a tutor cannot do that unless they listen to the student. A good tutor is not a tutor that had achieved exceedingly well themselves, although that is a part of it- it's about their ability…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is not only explain an answer to a student, but actually make sure that they understand how the answer is derived and can do it themselves. There is no point in rote learning something when you can understand how an answer comes to be. As Albert Einstein said, 'Education is not the learning of…

Throughout my tertiary studies, I have found that the key to learning anything is finding the point of interest for a person and developing that area so that the subject as a whole becomes enjoyable. For any student, progress will naturally vary and giving them that support and encouragement to persevere and overcome hurdles in their learning is,…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student, in my opinion, is to believe in them. When a child's role model believes in them they begin to believe in themselves and, I believe, that is the first step to accomplishing great things. If a child believes that they have the ability to do something they are more inclined to put more effort…

I think the biggest thing a tutor should not do is view the student from their own perspective, as that can lead to biases and frustration with a student not understanding a certain piece of content. Everything needs to be looked at through a lens, so that the correct procedures can be taken to ensure the student has a favourable experience. I…

I think that the most significant thing a tutor can do for a student is to work with the students inherent interests and aptitudes. When I reflect on the teachers and tutors that had the biggest impact on my schooling, the individuals that stand out are the ones that recognized and challenged me in the areas I naturally gravitated towards. I…

I believe that offering support and further understanding into the subject in question is the most important role of a tutor. As a tutor, ensuring that a student's misunderstandings and queries in an area are explained and clarified is very important. Giving the student a deeper understanding to truly grasp a concept is core as a tutor. To…

I believe that the two most important things a tutor can do for a student are a) help them find clarity through all the content thrown at them at school and b) discover a passion for the subject. I believe a good tutor will be able to narrow down what the student needs to learn in a way that allows them not to feel overwhelmed, and that a good…

To encourage them to persevere even when they find their studies difficult. My opinion is that equipping them with the knowledge they need is only a small part of the job. Local Reviews

Lyna was fantastic, incredibly intelligent and broke things down to measurable and achievable stepping stones to be able to understand formulas correctly.
Jordan, Bayswater North

Inside Bayswater NorthTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Grace practised finding the perimeter and circumference of shapes, then reviewed key measurement concepts for an upcoming test.

In Year 9, Sally worked through solving linear equations, plotting points on Cartesian planes, and calculating gradients from given equations.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Georgia focused on applying the binomial distribution and revising probability topics using past exam questions to strengthen her understanding of discrete random variables.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 Chemistry student missed several early classes and, as a tutor observed, "she needs more than 2 hours a week of tutoring to cover the contents she has missed"—this left her struggling to keep up with new material.

In Year 9 Mathematics, one student repeatedly avoided homework tasks set between sessions, leading to gaps in understanding that resurfaced during revision.

Another Year 8 student hesitated to ask questions when confused, staying quiet even after making repeated mistakes; this meant opportunities for feedback and correction were lost in real time.

Recent Achievements

One Bayswater North tutor noticed a Year 8 student who used to sit quietly now regularly asks for clarification and tackles maths problems out loud, a big shift from her earlier hesitation.

A Year 11 student recently moved from only understanding trigonometry basics to finishing the entire topic independently and even requested extra practice questions after the session.

Meanwhile, in primary school, one student who had trouble recalling geometric terms can now explain the difference between circumference, diameter, and radius without prompting—something that was tricky just weeks ago.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I chose to work with EzyMath because it was very flexible and I could fit it around my uni schedule. Tutoring has really helped me learn how to explain concepts effectively and also greatly improved my leadership and communication skills. Witnessing my students' gradual improvement in not only their technical skills but their confidence in the subject was extremely rewarding. I would recommend EzyMath to fellow tutors and prospective clients.

I'm an older student studying nursing this term I had a maths calculation exam that required 100% to pass . As you can imagine I was "freaking out !!! " 100% are you crazy !!!!!! . Then I meet Lisa !! she was one of my favorite people !! she was punctual, organised , and willing to spend the extra time if needed ,Lisa  researched  and came up with numerous, exams ,test and quiz's and got me all sorted with all the necessary formulas that where need to  get my brain working again . I actually believed I could do this . It was the happiest text I'd ever sent to notify Lisa I passed !! 100%  Wow ,I would have not been able to do it with out Lisa's help .

Thank you for the report. I wanted to take a moment and thank you for sending Brady to our home to assist Laura with math tuition. He fit's in well and has a nice approach to learning for a young student. Very happy client.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Bayswater Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Heathmont East Primary School.
