I believe a tutor can impact student's lives by providing the foundation he needs for further studies. A student with a poor concept might some how pass but he will struggle in the future, or looses interest in that subject. Hence a tutor can strengthen that foundation, at the same time be a source of motivation and a be a big brother. My main…

The most crucial role of a tutor is to inspire and empower students. It's not just about imparting knowledge; it's about instilling confidence. Building a supportive, mentor-like relationship is vital. When students feel comfortable and valued, their learning potential soars. A tutor should adapt their teaching style to match the student's unique…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to build confidence and self-esteem. Often, people feel discouraged or left out when unable to keep up with their class. They become withdrawn and tend not to believe in their capabilities. By teaching a student challenging topics, I am simultaneously quelling all notions of…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to promote confidence in a student. After a tutoring session, the goal should not be for a student to be able to complete their homework. Instead, the student should gain an understanding of the topic such that they can complete future coursework without the help of a tutor. If that…

I believe tutors pass on a sense of confidence to their students as they develop their skills. It is that virtue that students bring back to their classroom ready to apply what they have learned during their tutor's session. Patience is a key value that I possess and that will make me succeed in this role. Acknowledging that different student…

Think to pass the belief that the student can achieve the goal. It is just the matter of working hard and maybe trying different approach. Inside Beverley ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Max focused on spelling patterns with digraphs like "ai" and "ay," practiced tricky word lists, and used syllable breakdown to improve confidence.

In Year 8, Emma worked through probability concepts including Venn diagrams and two-step experiments, then completed a chapter review using textbook questions.

For Year 10, Sam revised financial mathematics topics such as tax and superannuation calculations, along with an introduction to compound interest and wage calculations.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 mathematics, messy and unclear working—especially in algebra and trigonometry—meant correct answers sometimes lost marks, as one tutor observed: "her tree diagrams became too difficult to read and easy to make mistakes."

A Year 8 student often forgot to write reasons when proving angles, which made it hard to follow her logic in geometry proofs.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner misplaced spelling homework after writing it on scraps instead of the provided booklet; this led to incomplete tasks and less improvement with weekly word lists.

Each moment of confusion or lost work created extra hurdles during revision.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Beverley Park noticed one Year 10 student who used to struggle with simplifying surds last year now tackling these problems confidently and even applying them to more complex questions.

In a recent high school session, another student managed to pick out relevant details from lengthy, tricky assignment questions—a big change from her earlier tendency to get lost in extra information.

Meanwhile, a Year 3 learner who once hesitated with spelling challenges recently spelled all words correctly on his test list and finished two NAPLAN reading tasks with improved scores of 4/7 and 5/7.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Bethan, gets on really well with Sydney. Sydney is enjoying her lessons and she is already getting a better understanding of her maths.

Marcos seems great, Oliver is very happy. Difficult time with HSC on near horizon, so the assistance with exam prep and technique is helping immensely.

Hi Erica, Thank you for your email enquiring how Grace is settling in with Rose. In a word "great " they seem to have clicked straight away. Grace had a test following  the second tutoring session so she wanted to run a few things by Rose and the results of the test were fantastic. Not to take anything away from Feraz, as Grace's Maths had started to improve, but I think Grace is responding well to way Rose is explaining things and maybe because she is a girl too!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Sans Souci Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Carlton South Public School.
