English Tutor Rosebud West, VIC
Adapting to a students learning style. Each student learns differently and to be able to teach the same content in different ways is definitely important. Also connecting with the student, ensuring they feel confident and connected to make mistakes and ask questions. My strengths are definitely the fact that I’m a teacher, I have experience,…

Local Reviews

My daughter has gained so much confidence in Maths since we started our sessions with Louisa. Shes's been able to clearly explain difficult concepts in a logical way so it's easier to grasp and retain. Would definitely recommend.

Inside BlairgowrieTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 Mira worked on place value and practiced multi-step order of operations problems.

In Year 8, Willow focused on solving linear equations and tackling complex fractions using written steps.

Year 9 student Tom covered graphing straight-line equations as well as applying the index laws to simplify algebraic expressions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 4, Gracie hesitated to attempt all maths questions in class, especially on long multiplication and division; a tutor noted, "she needed encouragement just to give it a go," which led to unfinished work and less confidence.

For Willow (Year 7), written algebra was avoided—working was left off the page, making it impossible for her or the tutor to spot calculation slips when solving equations.

In Year 10, Riley tried to solve multi-step problems in his head rather than writing out steps; this habit caused him to lose track during fraction simplification and left answers only partially correct.

Recent Achievements

A Blairgowrie tutor recently saw Willow, a high school student, start solving multi-step equations independently—she used to hesitate and wait for guidance, but now confidently attempts challenging problems on her own.

Riley, another secondary student, made noticeable progress in graphing linear equations; he's begun substituting values and plotting points without prompting, which is a big step up from needing each stage explained.

Meanwhile, Gracie in Year 6 has started asking clarifying questions when unsure about place value rather than guessing silently—a real change from earlier sessions where she rarely spoke up.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thank you very much to Jason, he was a great tutor and an incredibly nice person, we appreciate his efforts.

Dana was fantastic, so good that I passed my exam and got 98 percent in maths. Thank you.

I would be more than happy to be part of Ezy Math Tutoring again to continue motivating, encouraging and making more students feel that mathematics are easy and fun. I will never forget the day - the day before I left Sydney - when I went to one of my students' house to say good bye. That day, Mattheu let me know that he had been upgraded in his maths class, from 4th to 3rd level. When we started our tutoring sessions, he was on the 6th level of his maths course, and during the first two months, every day I asked him how everything at school had been that day, he replied "it was boring". Over that year that we were having our maths classes, he was being upgraded from 6th, to 5th, then 4th and finally 3rd that day when I went to his place to say good bye. Before I left his place, he said to me "Andres, I want to be a doctor, I want to study a PhD, like you... thank you". That very moment, when you are able to help others, contribute to society, etc, is simply priceless. Being a tutor was a great experience and I am still missing my students.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mobile Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Sorrento Primary School.
