Listening carefully comes first. All other things can follow from listening. From listening I can understand their vocabulary, grammar level, sense of language and so forth. After this, I can firstly adapt my language to them and then secondly, design specific exercises to take students into better habits so that they can express themselves as…

I believe a tutor should take teaching very passionately when doing her/his job as these early days in students life will play important role in their later life. At the same time, I think a tutor should be emotionally intelligent enough to build a good relationship with student so that student enjoys learning. I try explain the science concepts…

Allow students to build on previous knowledge and expand their knowledge in a fun way. I believe a tutor can scaffold learning for the student so that they can gain confidence from incremental learning tasks. Patience and I am able to adapt to any student's learning style. Also I am able to prepare learning experiences to match the learning style…

Harrison is fantastic and Alice is loving it. I really can’t speak too highly of him and his approach. We are very happy with the tutoring.

Inside BlanchviewTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Sam worked on solving word problems involving rates and ratios, as well as dividing fractions by whole numbers; Year 10 student Kagan focused on quadratic functions using the completing the square method and also received guidance with a physics experiment report draft; meanwhile, a Year 12 student tackled Chemistry concepts like balancing redox reactions and identifying oxidised or reduced species, alongside revision of logarithmic functions in Maths.

Recent Challenges

In Year 4 maths, one student did not complete assigned homework and often lost focus during lessons; he was very distracted and found it hard to stay on task, making it difficult to consolidate multiplication skills.

In Year 8, incomplete homework and missing practice with basic geometry meant class time was spent reviewing rather than progressing.

For a Year 11 student, organization challenges appeared: he had not done any of the homework assigned either, which slowed his grasp of new content in Methods.

In senior chemistry, unclear assignment structure led to confusion about how marks would be awarded—leaving the student uncertain about where to start.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Blanchview recently saw a Year 9 student who had always been hesitant to ask questions start speaking up and clarifying doubts during sessions, especially when tackling tricky algebra problems.

Meanwhile, a Year 12 student working on Chemistry was able to independently sort out complex electrolysis questions—something that had caused confusion in previous lessons.

In a primary session, one student who struggled with staying on task managed to complete her multiplication tables quickly and arrived having already practiced as requested.

The older student wrapped up the session by confidently seeking teacher feedback on his assignment draft.

Maths tutoring in Blanchview

Everybody knows that Maths is supposed to be difficult. It requires thinking in a logical and structured manner and those worded problems, they're super hard! The thing is that it's all about having the right approach. Every student learns best in their own specific way but at school there is a one-size-fits-all approach. Some students fall behind, others just can't seem to achieve the success they want. What's the remedy? Private 1-on-1 home tutoring is certainly one workable solution. It's a tailored approach that you can customize to your specific needs whatever they may be.
