Economics Tutor Broadbeach Waters, QLD
The most important thing an economics tutor can do for a student is to instil the key executive study skills that are used in the sessions that serve the student well and ensure they apply them all the time. These skills I hope to cement include organisation, focus and time management. I also believe it is important to form a connection with the…

I believe it is very important for an economics tutor to be able to identify students' unique learning styles and tailor every student's learning plan accordingly to their strengths and weaknesses. It is important to also identify what motivates and excites each student to learn and encourage active engagement in the tutoring sessions. As a tutor,…

It is normal to find difficulties in understanding concepts and it is not a fault of student to seek help. Realization of this is the first step of a student towards learning and putting effort I understand the level of a student and teach after analyzing the learning level with relatable examples. I believe in repetition of course, so I try to…

Inside Broadbeach WatersTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Milly worked on identifying outliers and understanding mean, median, mode, and range using example problems and a summary sheet.

For Year 9, Jack focused on basic algebra concepts including gradient, ratios, and solving for x in equations to prepare for an upcoming exam.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Zoe reviewed equilibrium concepts such as Le Chatelier's Principle in chemistry alongside analysis of redox reactions to strengthen her understanding for assessment tasks.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Chemistry, hesitation to attempt questions independently was evident—"doesn't want to try the question before with me as doesn't want to do it wrong"—which limited growth in tackling unfamiliar problems.

A Year 10 student repeatedly wrote down the wrong formula in Physics assignments, leading to confusion during operator rearrangement and slowing progress.

In Year 6 Maths, missing maths homework became a barrier, with one note highlighting that tasks were left incomplete and capitalisation rules ignored.

For a Year 8 essay task, copying large sections from articles instead of paraphrasing signaled avoidance of practicing authentic writing skills.

Recent Achievements

One Broadbeach Waters tutor recently saw a Year 10 student who used to rush through maths assignments start slowing down and writing out every step, which helped him avoid past calculation mistakes.

In a senior chemistry session, another high schooler who'd struggled with remembering formulas managed to recall all the equations needed for titration questions and applied them independently during practice problems.

Meanwhile, a younger student who was hesitant about fractions began confidently explaining the difference between mixed and improper fractions using visual aids, then answered every quiz question on her own without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I've been working with Ezy Math Tutoring for the best part of 3 years and I can truly say it has been an honour to work with such a supportive and caring group of people. My students and their families have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel like I was making a difference. Ezy Math always made working with them a breeze, ensuring that my needs and the needs of my students were accommodated for. I have recommended Ezy Math to fellow tutors in the past and shall continue to do so in the future. I would like to thank Ezy Math for all their support over the years and I look forward to many more successful tutoring relationships.

I would recommend  working with Ezy Math for any prospective tutor. The work is very satisfying. Maths can be a difficult subject for anybody, and when you can show someone an easier, systematic way to solve one of their problems the students really appreciate the help.

I came to work with Ezymaths because I knew I would get a wide range of students to tutor, which would undoubtedly improve my tutoring skill as well as communications skills (dealing with students and parents). The biggest accomplishment would be when my student's mark improved significantly and she moved up to the upper maths class in the next semester. I felt very proud of my students when they remembered the skills I taught them last week and used those skills to complete their homework and also to apply to other similar questions. The CEPs and various resources were useful. Thank you for your support for the past year!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Broadbeach Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Vincent's Primary School.
