I think tutors that are able to really connect with and understand their students are ones who have students that really engage in meaningful discussion with their tutors and are therefore able to get the most of their experience with them. Giving guidance and bringing out each students' potential and interests in certain topics or subjects is a…

The most important thing a chemistry tutor can do for a student is to make the student feel comfortable and enjoy learning. As the say goes “no bad subjects, only bad teachers†the more comfortable a student is the more they would enjoy the subject My strength definitely would be the ability to make students feel comfortable so they dont…

Giving the best for her students and listening them actively to understand their learning style and guide them towards their goals. My nature of never giving up on the concept and easy recognition of my student’s change in body language, voice that make me aware that they didn’t understand the concepts and I’ll never move to next one until I…

Studying techniques, creating good habits and of course, feedback for improvements! These are the important aspects that a chemistry tutor should show their students. There is much more to learning than parroting back facts - information needs to absorbed, regurgitated, reused in a practical sense. I have much hands-on experience in using my…

I believe it's truly the little things that count. By this, I mean being truly available for your students at all times of the day, working through their frustrations and areas of weakness with a growth mindset and patient attitude, and knowing how to bounce back and encourage them if they miss the mark academically. Being such a recent student…

One of the most important things a teacher can do for their student is to listen. Not to listen to think of the next response but to listen to understand. I believe as a teacher listening specifically to WHAT the student is asking not HOW they are asking it is one of the most valuable and important skills I've learned to develop. When a student is…

I believe the most important thing a chemistry tutor can do for a student is to ensure that they understand what they are learning instead of providing them with the answer. It is often the case when explaining something to a student and they say they understand, however it is clear they do not. Being persistent and patient with students is far…

There are a lot of things that can be considered important while tutoring a student. The most important thing a chemistry tutor can do for a student is to find their strengths and abilities in the subjects they are struggling with. This will help them in improving academically and increase their interpersonal skills as this will encourage them in…

One of the most important things that a tutor can do is actually get to know the student as well as their learning style in order to be able to make a real impact on the student's learning. Another key thing that a tutor can do identify the areas that the student needs extra help in in order to focus on these which could involve asking a few…

Every student is special and expecting same response from every student is really not good . The velocity with which the child,s brain works is really different from kid to kid so the explanation from a tutor side has to be made again and again without thinking of his time till a sense of satisfaction is achieved from every student As a tutor, i…

Local Reviews

David did come over yesterday for a lesson with Kyle. Like you mentioned, he is a diligent and competent tutor with experience in teaching. He did put in a lot of effort even before he arrived to make sure he knew what he was dealing with. I am very happy and impressed with his teaching. Just wish we had found him earlier!

Inside BullaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Arjun worked on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions as well as exploring the perimeter and area of solids.

In Year 11, Leah focused on financial mathematics topics such as compound interest and reducing balance loans, including practice with a financial calculator.

For Year 12, Matt tackled networks and graphs by analyzing different types of connections within graph structures using diagrams to aid understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student arrived to tutoring without a textbook, pen, or paper and seemed unmotivated; as one tutor put it, "he was confident with his answers (although wrong)." This led to avoidable mistakes in algebra and left little room for productive feedback.

In senior sessions, another student struggled with test time management—running out of time on longer questions meant they missed opportunities to demonstrate understanding.

Meanwhile, a primary student avoided writing working for maths patterns due to fear of making errors, which made it difficult to identify where their reasoning broke down during the session.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Bulla recently noticed a big shift with one Year 11 student who used to hesitate during revision but is now actively problem-solving and asking for more challenging questions on her own.

In another high school session, a student mastered a brand-new method after struggling at first—she worked through each step independently and finished the lesson without needing extra support.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student, who previously waited for help before attempting worded maths problems, has started drawing diagrams herself and completed all her assigned homework without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I would just like to say how thrilled we are with Aaron, he is amazing. Tyler loves working with him and actual looks forward to doing maths which I never thought would happen. So once again thank you for such a wonderful service with great tutors.

Minyu likes Nima and has already gained mastery and confidence with some of the concepts she was struggling with so from my point of view things are going very well.

El Abed has been a brilliant tutor & I am impressed he managed to work so well with Faith when others have been unable to kept her focused. I wanted to highly recommend Abed as a tutor, I am disappointed my daughter is not interested Maths to improve further.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Sydenham Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Overnewton Anglican Community College - Canowindra Campus.
