Tutors should always make students feel safe and comfortable. It's important to create an environment where they are not afraid to ask questions, as curiosity is a pathway for knowledge and will assist them in their learning experience. It is also important to create an environment where students don't feel shame for not understanding content. A…

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is being able to adapt to a students need. Each student has a unique style of learning and it is important for a tutor to be able to tailor lessons for each students learning style. Additionally as a tutor I believe it is important to provide and encourage a positive growth…

A tutor must be able to make the learning experience an enjoyable experience for students. They should be able to help students relate the learnings with real life examples. I am currently teaching Mathematics in a Secondary School. As a tutor, I am able to discover a student's main weakness areas or topics and then I strategise with my methods of…

The most important thing a tutor can do is help a student feel confident and capable. It’s about making the material easier to understand and creating a space where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Learning becomes easier when the student feels supported. I’d say my strengths as a tutor are being patient and…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for their students is to develop relationships so that the student is entirely comfortable with being honest with the tutor about questions and concerns with academics, as well as beyond what is required by the curriculum. A tutor must be empathetic and patient, and this allows them to create a…

Teach them the methods and concepts, not answers. By doing so we are ensuring the students can solve any problem as they know how to. The tutors should adapt to the way the student learns, and change the way they teach if the student isn't understanding. Some of my strengths would include, being patient which I believe is important for a tutor…

One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to not only teach content but to be there as a mentor. I don't believe that the most important things that a tutor can do for a student start in the classroom. The most important thing in achieving desired outcomes in school, or any discipline, is attitude. It starts with understanding that a whole is made up of parts, and that ten minutes a day, although small, adds up over the course of three…

I believe that instead of simply passing down knowledge to students, it is crucial to provide guidance to independent learning. Students cannot rely on tutors to help them do their work forever, so I believe that apart from teaching new learning strategies, it is also important for tutors to cultivate independence in their students. I believe that…

Local Reviews

EzyMath Tutoring has really catered to my needs and reacted to feedback both positive and negative to get the Tutor with the right fit for my son. Since his tutoring, in 1 term he has gone from having a lack of confidence, not completing tests and homework, to now coming in the top 5 in his class with recent test results. I highly recommend EzyMath Tutoring.

Inside BungarribeeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Lachlan focused on solving simultaneous equations using substitution and elimination methods, and practiced modeling exponential growth and decay scenarios like population change.

Year 8 student Ethan worked through key concepts in coordinate geometry by finding gradients, midpoints, and distances between points, as well as reviewing linear equations using classwork examples.

For primary level, Year 5 student Alyssa tackled adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and rounding decimals with practical exercises and vocabulary review activities including a word search.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student found it challenging to keep written working clear when rounding numbers, making corrections difficult to track—"working out needs to be a bit larger," the tutor noted.

In Year 10 algebra, skipping subtraction steps in taxable income questions sometimes led to confusion about which figures had been included.

For a senior (Year 12) tackling simultaneous equations, relying mainly on the elimination method left her underprepared for substitution-based exam tasks; homework was set but not always completed before lessons.

When faced with long worded problems in both Years 5 and 9, some students hesitated to attempt full solutions without reassurance.

Recent Achievements

A Bungarribee tutor noticed a Year 12 student who was initially confused by interpreting correlation plots now accurately identifies graph relationships—something that previously led to mistakes on assignments.

In another session, a Year 10 student who used to avoid seeking help has started openly asking questions when unsure about trigonometric concepts and completed an entire booklet independently after clarifying just a few points.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who was hesitant with rounding numbers at first gained confidence by collaborating with her sister and finished all related questions without assistance.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mt Druitt Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Mountain View Adventist College.
