If a student is confident in their ability to learn and comprehend information, they feel that they have options and their anxiety toward their educational career completely changes. I am compassionate and patient. I love simplifying information for students and giving them a higher confidence both in themselves and their ability to…

Personally, I believe that a good tutor is more than just a teacher; they guide students based on their specific needs. They consider various factors, such as a student's learning style, and tailor their instruction to them. They also instil executive study skills in students, which will benefit them both academically and in life. Being a great…

Legal Studies Tutor Albany Creek, QLD
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is to make the subject matter enjoyable for students. 1. I believe my strengths would be being able to empathise with students, having a positive attitude towards learning, teaching and my subject, I have excellent communication skills and I'm patient and tolerant. 2. While I was a peer tutor, I…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is set them up to be organised, on task and have good time management. This is important for examinations especially and gaining independence in their studies. My strengths as a tutor are not only my social skills but my explaining strategies. I use visual aids when i’m teaching someone and I…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to help them build their skills so that they can efficiently study. I also think a tutor should be able to teach students how to effectively study and implement study techniques. My strengths as a tutor would be that I am determined in my own studies and I try to methodically break down…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student include: firstly, helping students understand what they think they are not being taught enough/want to understand more of, secondly, improve their confidence/attitude towards the content that they are learning in a specific class (e.g. Maths can seem quite daunting to some students; changing…

Support their learning without giving away the answers easily so that the student can actually practice while supervised. This not only and proves their understanding, but also allows them to go through all of the processes in problem solving so that they form their own framework to comprehend the subject matter. It is important to do this while…

Give them confidence- either to have a crack at new questions or topics, or just continue to work and learn independently. Usually this is achieved by helping students find a way to enjoy the subject. I'm a good communicator and very empathetic. I've always been told I'd be an excellent teacher- my habit is to always make sure a tutee has…

Plan ahead and work with the students to set small goals they can work towards a bigger goal at the end of the semester, so the process of learning is broken down into easier components. Local Reviews

Lauren seems to be going well and most importantly is engaging with Steph and feeling better about Maths in general. We are very happy with Steph so far. She is a lovely girl who is always punctual and the communication between us is excellent. And I think Lauren looks forward to her sessions with Steph, which can only be a positive!

Inside BunyaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 Cohen worked on division and multiplication skills, focusing on problems where at least one number was a single digit.

Year 10 Madelyn reviewed her maths assignment feedback and revised her written responses to strengthen arguments and accuracy.

Meanwhile, Year 11 Maddy tackled trigonometric equations using identities and also practiced basic matrix operations for her upcoming assessment.

Recent Challenges

One Year 11 student left a maths assignment untouched until just two days before it was due, as noted: "he hadn't made any progress since our last session even though the task was due in 2 days."

In Year 9, forgetting to bring materials meant no meaningful work could be done during the lesson.

A Year 12 learner delayed starting practice exams, which reduced confidence under timed conditions.

In Year 7, showing working for Desmos equations was avoided, making error-spotting much harder.

When concentration flagged after a busy week of school sport (Year 8), less content was covered and revision lost its impact.

Recent Achievements

One Bunya tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to wait passively now comes in with a list of questions from class, showing real initiative by pinpointing exactly where she's unsure and driving the session focus herself.

A Year 11 student who previously struggled to apply teacher feedback on assignments is now not only using comments to revise her work but also making decisions about how to strengthen her reports independently.

In Year 6, one boy who'd been hesitant with maths was able to solve all his long division problems on his own this week without prompting or skipping steps.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Nathan is great and Katelyn is really happy. At first she wasn't very keen on having a tutor but she is not complaining at all anymore.  We are off to a great start and I feel positive.

Working with you guys was very fun and exciting. I got to learn a lot from it. Getting to know and meeting different students built up my communication and teaching skills. My biggest achievement was teaching a student who hated maths and making them love it. it was a time of hardship, but I never gave up . The student always felt that she couldn't do well and that she will always hate maths. I decided to challenge myself that no matter what I will surely make this student reach the top level. Slowly the effort rose and I was proud of myself that I was capable of teaching my students to love maths and always never lose hope. Ezymath tutoring was one thing I wanted to work with because it provided resources, flexible timings and balanced schedule. I  never had any problems with rescheduling as you guys were flexible. Tutoring has made me experience and reveal my inner most teaching skills and communication skills. I can approach a problem from the student's perspective, which helps in identifying faults in understanding. Students gradually gained confidence over months and I was finally confident that they would be ready for any tough problems. I enjoyed working with you and I will recommend you to fellow tutors and prospective clients.

I loved working as a tutor with Ezy Math. The office contacted me regularly with prospective students and rewarded me with great pay. It was great to see how a student's approach to knowledge changes when others invest in them. Being a tutor was great preparation for office work, as it helped me learn several forms of effective communication, relevant for different types of people.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Arana Hills Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Patricks Road State School.
