They can simplify the concepts that the students are struggling with and help them understand the concepts in their own way, tailored to their minds. Tutors can also show the students different methods of approach to similar problems and how they themselves try to understand it and teach that to the students. I believe my strengths are having…

One of the most important things a maths tutor can do for a student is providing assistance in their work. A tutor has to able to explain the concepts in a particular topic very clearly and confidently. This includes answering any questions the student may have. It is also very important for the tutor to be able to target the areas where the…

I believe a maths tutor should not only be able to teach a student new concepts or assist them in understanding difficult concepts but also motivate them to study and try their best in their academic studies. Besides that, a tutor should also be able to help the student gain confidence in the work they are doing so that they are more likely to…

As I have noticed with most of my tutors, they usually teach me by making me remember a methodology systematically, thus when there is a slight variation in the question it would stump me. That is why, I believe the most important thing a maths tutor can do is to not manufacture students into robots that only remember specific methods for generic…

I think the most important things a maths tutor can do for a student is teach a student how to be conscientious in their work, how to learn effectively and efficiently, and problem solve for themselves. These traits are important life skills that can be gained through education/schooling that they will inevitably have to apply in their maturation…

I think a maths tutor needs to be patient and easy going in a way that students can be comfortable with, and question things they feel unable to question in their school classroom. I think tutors need to teach their students the importance of practice and resilience, especially in VCE. English is a subject which takes lots of practice and…

Choosing Ezymath Tutoring was the best decision I've made. The process was extremely easy and the service provided by the team is outstanding. We have been using Ezymath for only one term and my sons have already seen a significant improvement in their results thanks to their wonderful tutor. Will continue the tutoring going forward and highly recommend Ezymath to any parent looking for help and additional support for their kids education.

Inside Burnside HeightsTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Alice focused on discrete random variables and probability concepts, including practical SAC preparation involving binomial distributions.

Year 10 student Mark worked through geometric and arithmetic sequences, with extra attention given to understanding recurrence relationships using clear examples.

Meanwhile, Year 4 student Kiyana practiced subtraction with two- and three-digit numbers as well as comparing and ordering multi-digit numbers using greater than and less than signs from her school homework.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student was hesitant to connect different analytical techniques in English, making it harder to draw strong links across texts—He struggled to relate various techniques with each other.

In Physics (senior years), lesson notes did not show active use of feedback or written working, suggesting a reliance on mental calculation rather than clear, trackable reasoning.

Meanwhile, a Year 8 learner required repeated reminders to focus on detail when reading comprehension tasks appeared—He does require more focus for detail reading, leading to missed nuances in the passages.

Each moment brought a quiet frustration: ideas left unspoken, details skimmed past.

Recent Achievements

One Burnside Heights tutor noticed a big shift in a Year 8 student's approach to English: after weeks of hesitating, she started using her own experiences to connect with reading activities and now volunteers personal stories during lessons.

In Year 10 Maths, another student who used to rush through problems is slowing down and checking his work—last session he completed 28 out of 35 questions in an hour without skipping steps, something he struggled with before.

Meanwhile, a Year 3 learner has moved from guessing answers to circling synonyms independently after practicing word analogies for several sessions.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Caroline Springs Library & Learning Hub—or at your child's school (with permission), like Gilson College.
