The most important thing will be to help the student find his/her interest in the subject. If they don't believe they can do it or that what they're learning is actually beneficial, they're only ever going to treat it as something they have to do. It'll be difficult for them to reach their potential in the subject. My strengths would be ability to…

Being respectful is one of the best ways to connect with a student, and allows students room to speak up about any issues they are having. Having good management skills will ensure students are taught with well prepared content, and also be heared with appropriate after class learning material to prepare for the next lesson. Very good…

The most important thing for a tutor is to know how well students respond to different teaching methods and ensure they learn the content suited to their own learning methods. I do not have experience in tutoring; however, I think I can bring a positive influence to the students by catering to their different needs as learners. I also have…

It is highly important for a tutor to listen and more specifically identify gaps and concerns that a student is having in a particular area. I believe that my strengths are that I have developed strong communication skills over the course of my employment and my university studies. I studied Board English at highschool and maintained high grades…

To prepare for class and constantly check up on their progress. Students often need help outside of class, which lots of tutors do not provide. I am always accessible outside of class hours, ensuring students get help whenever they need it. Another important thing is to motivate the student. I always felt inspired to study after my sessions with…

The most important thing a tutor can do is listen to their student and work out the most appropriate way to help them. Not all students learn the same way, and it is integral to make learning desirable and achievable through modifying language used, providing appropriate examples and supporting students to feel confident. My strengths are being…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be committed to them and to learn the way in which the student understands concepts. By doing this, a tutor can teach the students in a way that ensure the best possibility for success and growth. For me, tutoring is 100% about the student's growth, and as such, fully understanding the…

Help them reach their full potential without doing all the work for them; I think it is important to let them do some hard work now and again so they can appreciate it more when they are congratulated for their success, and so that they are not 'coddled' into thinking other people will do all their work for them. Some of my strengths would…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to encourage them and to listen to them. A tutors job is to guid a student in the right redirection. The most important thing as a tutor is to be there for your student, not only academically but mentally and emotionally as well. I want my students to feel like they can ask me for advice on subjects that may not pertain to their education, but I want them to also feel like they can come to me for help when it comes to their academics as well.…

Inside CalamvaleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Sarah focused on data and statistics as well as exploring area and volume through hands-on activities.

In Year 10, Jayden tackled linear motion in Physics alongside solving trigonometry problems in Maths, using diagrams to support understanding of Newton's Laws.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Priya worked on derivatives—both first and second, linking these concepts to her Physics assignment by interpreting rates of change within real-world scenarios.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Maths Methods, over-reliance on notes was noted during complex derivatives—"needed to actively recall rules like chain rule, not just refer back each time." This led to slower problem-solving and difficulty with new types of questions.

For a Year 12 Physics assignment, incomplete drafts and weak evidence sections stalled progress; as one tutor put it, "needed more work on the second half of the draft to complete it in time."

In a Year 8 trigonometry session, missing key words in worded problems made set-up harder and increased confusion.

When written work remained underdeveloped in senior English tasks, conclusions felt rushed or unsupported.

Recent Achievements

A Calamvale tutor noticed a Year 11 student who used to rely heavily on hints is now working through derivative problems independently, even explaining the chain and product rules back without hesitation.

Another high schooler who previously handed in incomplete Chemistry drafts arrived this week with her assignment fully finished ahead of schedule, then acted on feedback by refining her rationale section independently.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who was hesitant to speak up now routinely asks for help when stuck—this session, she tackled all the maths worksheet's tricky questions after asking clarifying questions aloud.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Again, I would just like to say Justin's work with Connor was amazing. In such a short period of time Connor has managed to gain confidence in maths from his time spent with Justin. We are so grateful that your organisation matched the tutor and the nature of the student perfectly. Funny as it may sound, maths is no longer Connor's nemesis. Ezy Maths is fortunate to have such a patient and understanding tutor as Justin, we wish him every success for the future.

We have been really happy with tutor and your service and have already recommended you to other parents. Thanks for your help and we will contact you agaIn if we ever need any  more help...:)

Just got Tahli's report. She got 55/100 last report and now 73/100 with position of 2/62 in her year. I have thanked Vashika for her work with Tahli and sorry to lose her next year but thanks to Ezy maths for giving my child confidence in maths!
