Inside CamelliaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Jessica worked through algebraic techniques and surds in preparation for an upcoming exam, using a combination of textbook problems and practice tests.

For Year 8, Ryan focused on volume and mass calculations as well as capacity, applying these to real-world scenarios.

Meanwhile, Year 5 student Chloe revised fractions and decimals by completing targeted practice questions and reviewing mistakes together for deeper understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student in mathematics repeatedly left working out incomplete, especially in algebraic fractions—she skipped showing steps, which hid sign errors.

In Year 11 chemistry, written responses lacked accurate chemical symbols and formulas, and previous homework was not completed on time.

For a Year 5 literacy session, the focus shifted to spelling but messy written work made tracking corrections difficult.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 student avoided asking clarifying questions during physics tasks about energy transformations; this meant misunderstandings lingered and confidence slipped when feedback wasn't acted upon after mistakes.

Recent Achievements

One Camellia tutor noticed a big shift in a Year 11 student who previously hesitated to show her working—she's now writing out each step for calculus and trigonometry problems, which has helped her catch mistakes on her own.

In Year 8 maths, another student moved from making frequent errors in multiplying decimals to finishing an entire worksheet with just one minor slip-up.

Meanwhile, a primary student who often guessed at answers during fraction lessons started identifying rules independently in algebra patterns and explained her thinking out loud before solving the next question without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Again, I would just like to say Justin's work with Connor was amazing. In such a short period of time Connor has managed to gain confidence in maths from his time spent with Justin. We are so grateful that your organisation matched the tutor and the nature of the student perfectly. Funny as it may sound, maths is no longer Connor's nemesis. Ezy Maths is fortunate to have such a patient and understanding tutor as Justin, we wish him every success for the future.

We have been really happy with tutor and your service and have already recommended you to other parents. Thanks for your help and we will contact you agaIn if we ever need any  more help...:)

Just got Tahli's report. She got 55/100 last report and now 73/100 with position of 2/62 in her year. I have thanked Vashika for her work with Tahli and sorry to lose her next year but thanks to Ezy maths for giving my child confidence in maths!
