I believe tutors need to understand their students, given that not all individuals hold the same skills or pace of learning and as such, need to be taken into consideration or have the lesson plans catered to their needs. Tutors must, nonetheless, put in large amounts of effort to ensure the student receives and understands theory that is taught,…

Most important things a tutor can do for a student is providing them help with the areas they’ll need to improve. As I believe as tutor the most important thing for a student is helping them to improve and engage in the subject, as the student is engaged within the learning process, they’ll definitely improve as well. Although high results is a must, tutors should also respect or accept what students may want to gain out of their HSC marks. We cannot force students to learn but making the content more interesting will help motivate those who struggle to grasp the concept. The key point is that after every session, the student can leave knowing that they have…

I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do is to support and lead the students towards the right direction when it comes to learning, as well as the ability to reaffirm their strengths and develop on their weaknesses. I believe is to understand what works for a student. To know if this child is a visual learner or a note taker or an example question person. To truly understand the most efficient way to teach a student is the best gift you can give a student. Help them also learn their study method that works and helps them through their school career. I’m…

Support and guidance are vital to a students experience through education. While some need small levels of prompting or an extra pair of eyes to overlook work, some students may benefit from additional teachings outside of the traditional classroom to boost their sense of understanding in a more individual-focused lesson. My strengths as a tutor…

Yet again the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to never give up on their student as losing faith in your student can demotivate them. Where one important step in being able to understand and learn is putting in the work and effort. So a tutor should aid the students journey into putting in this effort. Which also includes being…

I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to enrich their understanding and reinvigorate or catalyze a passion in a particular subject. Nowadays, a student's passion for a particular subject dwindles as they go further and further into their high school career. This may be due to external factors such as pressure or…

When I was at school, my favourite teachers were always the relatable ones who were genuinely interested in me, my hobbies and my life. This connection is important for many reasons, not only to be a good tutor but to also be a confidant in times of crisis. In the past I have worked with children who had special needs. Being close to the student…

In my perspective, a tutor must be able to properly assess the student's needs - whether they are struggling with eg multiplication, or understanding of algebra that make it hard for them to do harder questions, or even motivation or confidence issues, or comprehension problems, and to be able to adapt to these need/s of the students and improve…

EzyMathTutoring has helped my daughter very much with her mathematics. She understands the work in more depth and its showing in her results. I am very pleased with her tutor and the way he explains and helps her with the questions or problems she has. Overall, very happy with everything

Inside Canley ValeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 student Ana worked on recognising vowels, practising the alphabet, and improving her reading and spelling accuracy.

In Year 10, Michael focused on trigonometry and algebraic arithmetic, applying these skills to solve textbook-style problems.

For Year 12, Emma reviewed differentiation techniques—including chain rule applications—and tackled questions involving exponential and logarithmic functions using past exam materials.

Recent Challenges

One Year 3 learner, when reading aloud, consistently pronounced every word with a "T" in front—this confusion over letter sounds made it hard to build new words.

In Year 8 maths, one student often felt overwhelmed during timed problem-solving and couldn't process solutions efficiently, as the tutor noted: "When the clock was ticking down, she lost focus and struggled to write her answers."

For a Year 11 advanced mathematics student, homework was sometimes incomplete or missing after lesson cancellations; this led to gaps in understanding of anti-derivatives and integration rules that lingered into later sessions.

Recent Achievements

One Canley Vale tutor recently saw a Year 10 student who used to get stuck on the first few algebra questions now breeze through the first ten in just 15 minutes after some targeted practice—she can solve similar problems much more easily without extra hints.

A high schooler who struggled with reading sections is now quick to skim passages, highlight key points, and finish those parts faster than before, even asking for tougher critical thinking tasks.

Meanwhile, a younger student who once hesitated to speak up now volunteers answers out loud and tackles reading tasks at a noticeably faster pace.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as The Whitlam Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Pal Buddhist School.
