My dream is simple. I want to guide students in a way that goes beyond text books. It's not just about math or science, but the life skills like mindset, the joy of learning, and the art of studying. I believe every tutor should make learning feel a little fun, showing kids that it can be fun and that it isn't boring, which is what is important…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to recognise that all kids are different with unique skills and needs. This means adopting a personalised approach to tutoring wherein the tutor employs teaching methods and materials that are best suited to the individual child. This helps the child to feel understood and allows…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is connect with them. This results in the tutoring process becoming a much more comfortable experience, which allows for the student to learn and improve their academic abilities in an environment they enjoy. My strengths as a tutor include that I am personable and good at simplifying…

One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to share their passion for learning, helping them view education as an exciting adventure rather than just another task. I try to make learning feel like a journey full of discoveries. For example, when my little sister struggles with a tough math problem, I connect it to her…

I consider that the most important thing that you can do for a student is help them to see the use of the things that they are learning and make them understand why it is important to learn these things. Helping them to develop love for the subject, and this way it will be easier for them to develop a love for study in general. I think that my…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to not be judgemental if they make a mistake instead be open to their ideas and correct them in a kind way that creates an environment of willingness to learn rather than fear of judgement. A tutor helps the student understand the subject matter in detail and at ease. He/she breaks the complex problem which require analytical skills to simpler arithmetic problems a student can work on. This in turn builds confidence in the student who in turn can easily interpret exam-setting questions as well as real life logic with ease. I like to…

A tutor must be able to understand the student's perspective. Students think in unique ways and a good tutor should encourage that level of thinking. Inside Centennial ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Olivia practised identifying and simplifying fractions using diagrams, then applied these skills to worded problems.

In Year 8, Marcus worked on rearranging formulas and solving linear equations, as well as reviewing probability concepts through targeted exercises.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Michael focused on geometric reasoning and congruency proofs, tackling harder examples and reviewing key geometry rules for upcoming assessments.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student preparing for exams struggled with time management and left answers partially simplified in quizzes, as noted: "She often stopped one or two steps short of fully simplifying her answer."

In Year 7, a student avoided writing working for multi-step maths problems, preferring to guess—leading to confusion with decimals and missed marks when units weren't checked.

Meanwhile, a Year 3 learner frequently relied on memory rather than understanding in mental math, sometimes becoming distracted during new concept explanations. This meant difficulties recalling the column method for multiplication lingered even after repeated practice.

Recent Achievements

A Centennial Park tutor noticed Ruby, a Year 11 student, has begun splitting up her financial maths assignments into clear, workable sections on her own—something she previously found overwhelming.

In recent high school sessions, Michael has moved from making "silly errors" in complex proofs to independently correcting them and explaining his methods clearly.

Meanwhile, Louella in Year 5 has started drawing diagrams to help break down tricky worded problems and now eagerly attempts harder questions without hesitation—a big shift from when she'd wait for guidance before trying.

Last week, Ruby achieved 98% on her maths assignment after bringing forward specific confusions for discussion.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Ezy maths tutoring was just what we were after for Zena. We tried a couple of other tutoring companies before ezy maths tutoring but one we had to travel to to get there and the other offered us a young and inexperienced tutor, tutoring is more than knowing about the subject it is being able to teach it. Ezy maths tutoring offered us with everything we were looking for, reasonable pricing, at home tutoring and of course an excellent tutor. We found 'Tara' to be patient and understanding and Zena went from a D to getting B's and C's. We were very happy, thanks to Tara and ezy maths tutoring.

I decided to look for work as a tutor as I had time to spare and "fresh" knowledge that I thought I could share with students who wanted to do better. After being hired by two companies simultaneously, one being Ezy Math Tutoring, I would only have time to work for one of them. The decision to chose this company was easy as Ezy Math Tutoring provided greater support for its tutors. This included better pay, feedback, education on how to become a great tutor and a friendly group of people who were there to contact if I had any queries or if I needed help. The best thing about being a tutor was that I was able to dramatically improve the clients and their child's outlook on their education within a few weeks just by being there and providing a familiar face that knew how to help. I would definitely recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to any aspiring tutors and I thank them for the privilege of working as a tutor for the business.

Lauren had her first Tutorial with Caitlin today  and Caitlin loved her straight away with confidence built on day one. So far, so good :0)

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Paddington Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Francis of Assisi Regional Catholic Primary School.
