To instil confidence in themselves as it can take them a long way in terms of motivation and improving their learning by being positive and motivating. Inspire them. Anyone can regurgitate textbook material in a different way. But only few can truly educate and inspire their students to become the very best version of themselves. Some of the strengths that I believe are quite necessary for a tutor other than leadership are resilience, and the ability to properly analyse a students learning…

There are many qualities that are important in this job. But through my experience as a tutor, the number one thing I see my students appreciate is the fact that you respect them and see them as equals. The difference it can make for children to feel understood and seen is remarkable and I’ll always make sure that they see and feel it with me as…

I think it is very important for a tutor to be respectful and patient and know how to adapt to the students abilities. You want to make sure they feel comfortable and want to engage in the learning. I know from experience that not every student learns and understands subjects the same. If something isn't working for the student I think you need to…

First of all, communication is definitely vital in order to engage with tutees. Before any information exchange can take place, both parties should be able to relay their thoughts and express their opinions as clear as possible to avoid misconceptions. This skill is essential in the case of tutoring, as most of the knowledge exchange are only…

I think a tutor has a lot of power in empowering a student and making them love learning and love the subject. If a tutor can reorient a student's perspective of a certain topic and make the student learn it, it enables the student to engage more with the subject and hopefully increases their passion for learning and education in general which I…

I think it's incredibly important to respect the student's individuality. All students learn in different ways so it's important for a tutor to be versatile and very adaptable. Inside Clear Island WatersTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Milly worked through frequency tables, including how to calculate cumulative frequency and use Excel for graphing and averages.

In Year 9, Sam revised scientific notation and started trigonometry basics after completing work on Pythagoras' theorem, with problems tackled step-by-step.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Tom focused on chemistry's redox reactions and practiced using Le Chatelier's principle to predict equilibrium shifts in chemical systems.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Chemistry, a student hesitated to attempt practice questions without reassurance, as noted: "Doesn't want to try the question before with me as doesn't want to do it wrong." This reluctance meant less independent problem-solving and slowed skill development.

Meanwhile, in Year 9 Mathematics, consistently writing down the wrong formula led to confusion when rearranging equations.

In Year 5 English, copying directly from articles rather than summarizing in her own words showed avoidance of authentic writing practice.

During a Year 8 assignment, incomplete homework limited feedback opportunities—key misunderstandings lingered unaddressed into the next session.

Recent Achievements

One Clear Island Waters tutor noticed a big shift in a Year 11 student who, after weeks of hesitating to show working, now writes out every step during tough chemistry equations—something he'd always skipped before.

Meanwhile, a Year 9 student who used to rush through maths problems is starting to slow down and check each calculation, catching mistakes that tripped him up last term.

For one younger learner, organizing thoughts into full sentences was tricky at first; now she structures her ideas independently and recently completed an essay draft without needing any prompts.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I think my biggest accomplishment while working with Ezy Maths was motivating my students to believe in themselves and try their best. I came to work with Ezy Math Tutoring because I wanted to gain an experience in teaching others as this would help develop my own leadership and organizational skills. I think that I gained a lot of confidence in guiding others and helping them believe in themselves. What's special about Ezy Math Tutoring is that they help guide you along the way while giving you the freedom of developing your own teaching skills and techniques.

I was very happy with your service and team. I was fortunate to have met two tutors and both were reliable and most importantly helpful.  I came to you as I was attracted to your approach and no upfront fees or contracts....you pay for what you receive at very competitive rates.   I was particularly impressed with your assessments and reports. The communication is outstanding between client and company as well as tutor and client. I would highly recommend your service. Gabie got to where she needed to and at this stage is doing very well. If she will require any further assistance you will be our first call. Many thanks for everything so far.

Thank you for the report. We are very happy with Kim's approach and way of teaching . Yejeena is very responsive to her and enjoying her learning. She has become more confident in school and starting to put her hand up to answer questions when her teacher asks questions from the the class. It seems to us that , Kim also is enjoying working with Yejee and very happy with Yejee's attitude toward her extra study hours after school.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Broadbeach Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Vincent's Primary School.
