I believe that if you put your mind to something, you can achieve it, so one of the most important things a tutor can do is inspire and guide a student without demoralising them, so they do not give up, and help them feel proud of themselves or feel like they have achieved something. Another important thing for tutors to do is to recognise…

It's important for a tutor to impart his knowledge effectively and to assess his students' level of readiness before delivering the lesson. It's important that teacher leaves no gaps in the lesson and makes the lesson interesting for students. My strong background knowledge and my ability to teach effectively are my strengths. I love to show…

To be understanding and try to put yourself in their shoes. Don't just assume that if it is easy for you, it might not be easy for them to comprehend. I think it is important to build a relationship first before judging the student. I am patient, understanding and encouraging to my students. As a tutor, I believe that I have to ensure that the…

The most important thing is to make sure that the student understands the basic. As a tutor, you have to make sure that you give the student the tool/ steps of how to solve a problem. tutor have to observe the strengths and weaknesses of the student. Therefore they can fix the weaknesses. Most importantly they have to be able to communicate with…

Not all students are modelled the same way. Some are able to learn by studying the books while others require a lot of practice. Hence I believe that teaching the student how to study based on his or her strengths is the best thing a tutor can do and I will strive to achieve that at all costs. I spend a lot of time communicating with the student…

Encouragement and motivation are two of the biggest qualities that make or break a tutor; a tutor should be able to provide positive reinforcement to their students and support them all the way. Another important note is that a tutor should be versatile and adaptable, for not every child is the same, and it falls upon the tutor to make sure that…

I think personalising the teaching approach for each student is very important as no student will learn and grasp concepts the same, so having the awareness to be able to adapt to different students is very important, which will in turn improve the students confidence and grades. Inside Coromandel ValleyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Ella worked through fraction operations and practiced division and multiplication with currency word problems.

In Year 10, Jacob focused on trigonometric equations and explored applications of circular geometry, using diagrams to clarify concepts.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Daniel tackled double derivatives and equations of the tangent, applying differentiation techniques to curve sketching scenarios.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student showed difficulty retaining key steps from one week to the next, particularly with division and time conversions—"he could work through a problem together, but later forgot the method on his own."

In Year 11 Physics, incomplete revision between sessions meant formulas for circular motion and gravitation weren't fully memorised, leading to slow question attempts before tests.

For a Year 12 Methods assignment, falling behind on content left less time for their investigation write-up.

In each case, gaps in independent practice or revision resulted in last-minute stress and slower progress during critical tasks.

Recent Achievements

One Coromandel Valley tutor noticed a Year 10 student who previously hesitated to ask questions now actively requests clarification when working through kinematics problems, leading to stronger retention of new material.

A Year 8 student recently made a clear shift from guessing at division answers to confidently explaining their steps out loud, showing real growth in independent problem-solving.

In a senior physics session, a student struggling with magnetic induction concepts was able to accurately describe the process and apply it without prompts by the end of the lesson.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

The tutoring with Shamir has been great so far.  Tyler is very happy with him and we can only look forward to an increase in Tyler's results through hard work and dedication. Shamir appears very dedicated to helping Tyler, which really shows through.  We are very happy with him so far.

Things are going well. He is very well organised and she is happy with him so we haven't lost the momentum that was started with Harriet.

I cannot tell enough how excellent Mihika is. Celine absolutely loves her sessions with her and cannot wait for her next visit. I need to sit with Celine and determine her direction she wants to take before committing for the rest of year 10. However most certainly will get Mihika to continue for next year and beyond. After that I have another child  coming up, Jeremy who is in year 7. Once again congratulation to your organisation for employing so competent and knowledgeable tutors. I will definitely recommend EZY Math and Mihika  to other parents.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Blackwood Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Craigburn Primary School.
