A tutor should illuminate the skills, information and methodology on which academic excellence is predicated, thus enabling students to undertake work with confidence and awareness. The communication of this guidance -- and the guidance itself -- should be tailored to the individual's own needs. I am perceptive, patient, and good at articulating…

Ancient History Tutor Oaklands Park, SA
The most important thing a tutor can do is recognise the strengths in each particular child and help them to grow as the fine individual they are. It is super important that a tutor does not try and make the child someone they are not. I am a highly persistent and can easily pick up on how a child learns and develops in their own unique way. I am…

Inside Craigburn FarmTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Oliver worked on building confidence with multiplication and division facts, as well as practising real-life time problems using visual aids.

In Year 10, Emily focused on drawing derivatives given the original function and explored key principles in circular motion and gravitation.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Josh tackled applications of integration to solve physics-based magnetic induction questions, working through multi-step problems for deeper understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student, when working on proof questions in maths, hesitated to start without clear strategies and sometimes avoided writing out the first steps—this led to confusion about what equations were needed.

In senior physics, a Year 12 student hadn't completed enough independent revision between sessions; "Hadn't done much revision between our last two sessions so needs to get plenty done," noted one tutor.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 student struggled with retaining time and currency conversions from week to week, which slowed progress during new tasks.

Each case showed that gaps in process—rather than understanding—held them back at key moments.

Recent Achievements

One Craigburn Farm tutor noticed a Year 10 student who had previously avoided revision now dedicating extra time each week to exam prep, leading to much clearer understanding of equations and how to interpret them.

A Year 11 learner made real strides with magnetic induction—after struggling initially, he was able to explain the concept back in his own words by the end of the session.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student shifted from silently solving maths problems to enthusiastically sharing her strategies out loud, showing new openness and engagement she hadn't displayed before.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Blackwood Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Concordia College (St Peters Campus, Blackwood).
