The most integral thing that an economics tutor can do for a student is to not give up on the student and continue to explain a topic no matter how many times the student fails to understand it. This should be done while being soft-spoken and not pressurizing the student. Maintaining an approachable attitude even if the student is continuously…

I think the most important thing an economics tutor can do is to make the student more confident in themselves which motivates them in their studies so they succeed. I have seen in a personal level how badly confidence can affect someone in their studies. You start doubting yourself and think you are horrible at a subject. This leads to the person…

According to me, it is to be open and provide a comfortable environment to the students, where they can study and share their thoughts without hesitating. Apart from this, it is to make learning a fun process by teaching in a more fun way, this includes doing different activities to make children understand the concepts, etc. I do possess great…

Inside CullacabardeeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Lily practised solving linear equations and interpreting probability scenarios, using real-life examples to strengthen understanding.

For Year 9, Ahmed worked on expanding and simplifying algebraic expressions with negatives, as well as reviewing sequence patterns from recent classwork.

In Year 10, Sienna tackled trigonometry problems involving bearings and applied Pythagoras' theorem to multi-step questions, focusing on accurate diagram interpretation.

Recent Challenges

In Year 7, one student's notes showed a tendency to skip writing out steps in algebra—he often left working blank, which made it hard to spot where the error happened.

For a Year 9 exam revision session, another relied heavily on worked examples and struggled when asked to solve questions independently, indicating over-reliance on prior solutions instead of building confidence with unfamiliar problems.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner repeatedly avoided showing working for division and long multiplication, leading to confusion during multi-step word problems. This led to repeated errors going unnoticed until review time.

Recent Achievements

One Cullacabardee tutor recently noticed a Year 10 student who used to wait for prompts now tackling exam prep questions independently, even explaining her strategies out loud as she worked.

In Year 7 maths, another student who once hesitated with decimals has started correcting mistakes herself and confidently identifies tenths and hundredths on number lines.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student in the area has gone from struggling with time-telling to finishing both her school worksheet and extra division practice without needing reminders—she even volunteered to try harder subtraction problems this week.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We are very happy with Mina. In a short time Jamison's marks have improved greatly and Jamison enjoys working with her.

My son understood exactly what Margaret taught him the other day, with which he was having a lot of problems with.

We are extremely happy with our tutor Neema. He has been so encouraging for Sophie. She is feeling more confident already.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Ballajura Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Illawarra Primary School.
