At a foundational level, it's most important to ensure the student feels confident with the material they're learning. As a first step, it's important for a chemistry tutor to assist in honing in and helping the student practice so that their skill level matches the basic requirements of the subject. Then the next most important thing a tutor can…

A tutor can assist student in understanding the concepts more clearly and a chemistry tutor can mold a student's focus on the subject. Patient tutors would also allow the students to feel more comfortable around their tutor allowing them to ask more questions, helping them master a particular subject. I think a chemistry tutor can give a student a lot but the most important thing is boosting the morale of the student. A teacher has the power to build up or tear down a students's self-esteem and make a student's day or ruin it in an instant. So, a teacher must fill the role of someone who has the best interests of every child at heart. The main…

Inside DallasTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 10 student Wellson revised solving simultaneous equations using matrices in maths, and also practiced analytical writing techniques for English assignments.

In Year 11, Abby focused on preparing notes and drafting essays comparing *The Dressmaker* and *The Crucible* for her upcoming English exam, as well as researching career paths and university options.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Wellson worked through advanced maths topics such as transition matrices and steady state matrices while also reviewing feedback from previous English SACs to strengthen his essay structure and exam readiness.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 Maths, "frequently forgetting to write down all working out" meant a student lost track of steps when solving algebra problems, making it hard to spot where things went wrong.

For a Year 11 student, missing or inconsistent use of the graphics calculator—after it was stolen— made tackling maths exercises much slower and more frustrating.

In senior English, one student struggled with planning essays and didn't consistently apply teacher feedback, leading to weaker arguments under exam conditions.

As a tutor noted: "Formatting of solutions is less organised than it should be, which makes it harder to follow for future reference."

Recent Achievements

A Dallas tutor recently noticed Oscar, a high school student, now talks through his problem-solving steps aloud and needs far less reassurance than before—he's started using the backchecking method independently instead of asking for constant confirmation.

Abby, also in high school, used to get overwhelmed by essay planning but has begun creating cohesive revision schedules and compiling her own notes for upcoming exams without prompting.

Meanwhile, in a Year 6 session, one student who previously froze on tricky maths questions began writing out all available information first and tried different approaches until finding a solution.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Najib is making progress with Daniel and he feels more confident about tackling maths problems. I am sure Daniel will continue to improve under Najib's careful direction.

Before EzyMath, we had tried two different maths tutors for our son Mathew, they have been ok but not great.  I approached EzyMath because Mat wasn't really connecting with the tutors that we had sourced independently.  EzyMath put us in touch with Luke, a Uni student that lived close by. Luke was closer to Mat's age and related to him much better than just another adult telling him what to do.  Luke was flexible and would come on different days if Mat had a test that he needed to prepare for. The other thing that I love about EzyMath is that they do the character vetting for you, it's not just some random out of the paper that says they know how to teach Math.  We are thrilled with Mathew's new found confidence with this subject and would recommend EzyMath to anyone who needs a bit of extra help engaging with a subject and becoming more confident.  Happy kid is a happy parent!  Thank you EzyMath.

Mia is loving her tutor, she even said she wishes he could be her teacher because of how well he is explaining everything to her. Thank you!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Hume Libraries—or at your child's school (with permission), like Ilim College - Kiewa Campus.
