Reveal the greater picture to the student, so that they have the understanding to tackle any problem. I am extremely patient with students, and with a subject such as english, in which I have had years of experience, I have such a thorough understanding that I can break down teachings to the most basic form. Maths has always come to me very…

Maths Tutor Epping, VIC
I believe a maths tutor can help a student by believing in themselves when it comes to sacs and tests. By teaching the content clearly, a student should gain confidence and be able to know what to do on school homework, tests and sacs. I am a patient and caring person and will try my hardest to make sure students understand the concept. I am also…

Catering lessons towards the student's weaknesses and making sure that the student feels comfortable with you. I strongly believe that a linear approach to a maths tutoring lesson is not the way to go; the tutor should be changing the lesson up to fit the students' needs and be dynamically changing up the lesson for the student. Additionally, from…

I just wanted to say how fabulous Max is. He is lovely, smart, gentle, enthusiastic and a great teacher. He is making maths fun which is a gift. I will refer him to other folk with pleasure.

Inside Darraweit GuimTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 12 student Ali focused on complex numbers, including extended response questions and some early exposure to Year 12-level problems.

In Year 11, Hannah worked through circular functions in Methods using a range of applied examples and tackled gradients and applications of calculus.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student James reviewed binomial distributions in Methods, applying them to practical scenarios, and explored probability concepts to strengthen foundational understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student showed understanding of force vectors but hesitated to attempt unfamiliar question types independently—"needs more exposure to different scenarios," one tutor observed.

In a senior Methods session, another student avoided textbook review questions after setbacks, limiting practice with integration applications.

Meanwhile, a Year 8 learner often skipped revisiting completed chapters, missing out on consolidating knowledge in probability and algebra; forgotten or incomplete revision tasks slowed progress.

Across year levels, several students were reluctant to try textbook extension problems without guidance, which led to less confidence when facing new assessment formats in class.

Recent Achievements

One Darraweit Guim tutoring session saw a Year 11 student, who previously hesitated to attempt exam-style questions independently, work through several Year 12 physics problems using their own strategies—something they hadn't done before.

A high schooler in Year 12 maths, who used to struggle with implicit differentiation, was able to tackle related exam questions and get them right after practicing new techniques.

Meanwhile, a primary-aged student who often waited for prompts started trying textbook questions by herself without being asked. She even picked different question types on her own initiative.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Kelly is a fantastic tutor & lovely person who clicked with Emily immediately and Emily noticed her own improvement within days. Emily sat her Maths semester exam 3 weeks later after having Kelly there was a big improvement!!! Thank you for referring Kelly to Emily and we look forward to having her tutor Emily for as long as we can!

Working at EzyMath Tutoring is really rewarding. I have been able to work with students to build their confidence and evolve them into independent learners. You build relationships and trust with students so they feel comfortable with you - even if it is saying they don't understand! It's amazing to see them improve their maths skills with increased confidence. Even better is seeing them smile and light up with excitement when they tell you of their great achievements at school.

Eshan has been a great help to Georgina over the sessions she has seen him and she felt much more confident preparing for her mid-year exams (Y9).  I think she will get an A overall for maths this semester which is great given both math exams were quite difficult and the average score was much lower. She has also been asked to join the enrichment maths group from the beginning of next term.  Although Georgina is a little apprehensive about the step up, she knows it is a great opportunity to get exposure to more difficult work before things really step up a bit in Y10.  The school is very happy with her results and I feel confident that she will continue to do well, with the right support.  I feel there is much more potential upside for her to be gained through ongoing tutoring and it will be great to have Eshan's support as Georgina joins the enrichment stream at school next term.
