Engineering Studies Tutor
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help them develop their learning style. Students who are performing poorly in school need help to know the best learning style that is effective for them. As a tutor, exploring learning styles with the student is vital. Once students understand their learning style, they can progress…

I was extremely impressed by Kastaubh. He was incredible and Elijah's results reflected your tutor's ability and success as a tutor.

Inside DuckenfieldTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Lara focused mainly on algebra, particularly simplifying and solving equations, using worked examples to build confidence.

For Year 10, Ryan tackled quadratic equations by factorising and applying the quadratic formula, then switched to English by planning an introduction for a short story.

Meanwhile, Year 6 student Jamie practised adding and subtracting fractions with diagrams and also worked on rounding and comparing whole numbers for better number sense.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 Maths, one student often guessed answers under time pressure instead of writing out calculations, especially with negative numbers and rounding—"she tends to guess the answer when there's a time limit." This led to confusion and missed learning opportunities.

A Year 11 English student struggled to organize essay ideas, rarely planning before writing or checking for punctuation errors, which made responses less clear.

In senior Chemistry, another avoided noting down working steps and balanced equations, making it harder to identify mistakes later.

Messy or incomplete written work left several students unsure where they went wrong during revision.

Recent Achievements

A Duckenfield tutor recently saw a Year 11 student, Rylan, who used to need step-by-step guidance, now plan and conduct his Physics depth study independently—he even designed his own experiments and selected which trigonometric identities to use for tougher problems.

In Year 9, Shay moved from guessing at algebraic equations to confidently explaining each solving step without trial-and-error.

Meanwhile, Annie in Year 10 has shifted from basic research skills to running her own survey with over 100 participants and properly referencing sources in Chicago style for her assignment report.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Angela has done a wonderful job with Jake! She is friendly, positive & exactly what Jake needed. My son actually looked forward to the lessons. He only needed 3 & he was back on track. He now has a good understanding of the few areas he was struggling with. Thank you so much for your help. Very happy client.

The team at ezymath have been exceptionally professional and courteous with their service. I contacted them via the website as my daughter was struggling to pass math, and received a follow up phone call almost immediately. Within a week, Kurt was helping my daughter with her math and this has been very effective in increasing her confidence levels and ability. It has helped her to improve her math scores during tests and exams. I also found Kurt to be very respectful and professional during tutoring times, and the monthly feedback and information for parents was very helpful. I would recommend this service to other parents and children who are looking to improve their math ability.

My son was struggling with maths at school and felt that he was falling behind his peers. He asked if he could have a maths tutor. My neighbors recommended EzyMath so we decided to give them a try. The tutor we got was reliable and approachable.  He had a quiet and patient mannor and always encouraged my son to work things out for himself. My son never complained about having his maths tuition, which surprised me! After a couple of months of maths tuition from EzyMath I had a phone call from my son's maths teacher at school to say that he had done so well in his year 10 exams that he suggested my son choose Maths methods as one of his subjects for year 11.  This would definitely not have happened without the tuition he received from EzyMath. Thanks for all your help. It was a very positive experience.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Port Stephens Mobile Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Mount Kanwary Public School.
