I believe a maths tutor should take teaching very passionately when doing her/his job as these early days in students life will play important role in their later life. At the same time, I think a tutor should be emotionally intelligent enough to build a good relationship with student so that student enjoys learning. I try explain the science…

A tutor can help a student develop the necessary skills,by which he can learn and understand by himself. Also, he can help identify the students weaknesses and provide alternatives by which the student can easily learn. I have patience and understanding. I also have excellent writing skills. Moreover, I like challenges and I love it when I can…

Allow students to build on previous knowledge and expand their knowledge in a fun way. I believe a maths tutor can scaffold learning for the student so that they can gain confidence from incremental learning tasks. Patience and I am able to adapt to any student's learning style. Also I am able to prepare learning experiences to match the learning…

In my opinion, the most important thing about tutoring is creating rapport with the student. Because when the student likes you, he/she begins to trust you. And when you gain their trust, they would listen to what you are saying then they would learn what you are tutoring. As a tutor, my strength is I have a really deep foundation of Mathematics…

The most important things a maths tutor can do for a student is to teach and help them to learn. The tutor should help the student develop their own skills by setting a good example. I have lots of patience when it comes to teaching. I never stop until the students got what the topic is all…

10/10 very patient and knowledgeable, I'm a slow learner, and find maths difficult as I am a visual learner. Thank you!

Inside East ToowoombaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Sam revised Pythagoras' theorem and tackled area and perimeter word problems involving circles, practising with diagrams for clarity.

In Year 10, Chloe worked on financial maths topics including annuities and compound interest calculations, as well as network theory basics.

Meanwhile, a senior student focused on Chemistry by balancing redox reactions—identifying oxidised and reduced species—and in Maths Methods, solved complex logarithmic functions drawn from past exam questions.

Recent Challenges

Several students across Years 4 to 11 showed a pattern of incomplete homework, which slowed progress—one Year 8 student "had not done any of the homework assigned either," leaving gaps in algebra skills that reappeared during practice.

In a Year 10 Maths Methods session, missing note organization meant time was spent hunting for past solutions instead of consolidating new techniques.

For a Year 7 student, working was often left unwritten; as one tutor noted, "Still hard to get him to write down every step for problems...but he is improving." This habit made it harder to catch errors early in multi-step equations.

Recent Achievements

One East Toowoomba tutor noticed a Year 9 student who used to get distracted during maths sessions now talks through his algebra steps out loud, helping him avoid the careless mistakes he struggled with before.

In Year 11 Chemistry, another student has become noticeably more proactive—she's started seeking feedback on assignments from both her teacher and tutor, which wasn't happening earlier in the term.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner who found multiplication tables overwhelming is now completing them much faster and even did all her homework without reminders last week.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We have only had a couple of tutoring sessions so far but it has been a very short term, however the couple of sessions that we have had with Jonathan have been very good so we are very happy. We look forward to next term and Mia getting the assistance that she needs with her maths. Jonathan explains things well and is very kind and patient. So far, all good.

Vedant has been great. The day after Dan's first session, he scored a B- in his maths test, his highest ever mark. I'm sure he can achieve even higher marks than that with Vedant's help. Thank you for pairing Daniel with Vedant because Vedant has done a great job earning Dan's respect and sorting out the problems that were holding him back.

I'm happy to let you know that Domonic has been a great tutor. Nadine is very happy and feels comfortable learning with him.

Maths tutoring in East Toowoomba

As our company name suggests, we want to make tutoring "Ezy" for parents, students and tutors! We're super passionate about education and especially about maths. Helping a student reach levels of accomplishment that were previously unknown changes their life and sets them up for long term success. It's a "feel good" experience for the student, for parents...and of course for us! Our testimonials are the inspiration that keep us going through hard times. Tutoring works well when it is consistent, reliable, flexible and easy to manage ... otherwise, for a combination of reasons, we don't get the impact we want.

So here's how the service works: We will organise for a local maths tutor in East Toowoomba to reach out to you and organise the time and day for the lesson. The tutor comes to you. You can have the tutoring as often or as little as you like. There are no booking fees or "extras" of any sort. You simply get an invoice at the end of each month for the tuition time used. Best of all, your first lesson works as a trial, so if for some reason the tutor isn't a good fit for your family, you won't be charged for that lesson!

Ezy! Try us, 1300 312 354.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Highfields Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Joseph's College.
