Local Reviews

Emmad is one of the best tutors we have used. He is knowledgeable, patient and effectively communicates maths topics. He works hard at not only relaying the topic that needs covering but understanding where your child's weakness is ( not necessarily understanding the topic but perhaps test anxiety or poor study habits for example ). I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a maths tutor.

Inside ElizabethTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Kody worked on multiplication and division skills, using visual aids to reinforce number facts.

In Year 8, Chase explored angle relationships formed by parallel lines with a transversal and practised identifying different types of angles, as well as revising congruence rules for triangles through geometry problems.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Amelia focused on applying the Pythagoras theorem to solve worded application questions and was introduced to basic trigonometric ratios for finding unknown sides in right-angled triangles.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student arrived at a session without their biology test or English text ("The Merchant of Venice"), so targeted feedback and review weren't possible—organization of materials remains an obstacle.

In Year 11, missing advance notice about which math handout would be covered meant "seeing the hand out woul dhvae helped with structuring information," limiting preparation for the lesson.

For a Year 5 learner, writing work often lacked clear steps, as noted: "he skips the steps in an equation when written," which made it harder to spot calculation errors during algebra practice and slowed down progress on fundamentals.

Recent Achievements

One Elizabeth tutor noticed a real shift with a Year 10 student, Chelsea, who used to hesitate when tackling equations but now independently solves for x and y using different methods, even asking for extra challenging problems.

Another recent win: Caitlin in Year 9 has started revising daily without prompting, which became obvious when she sped through geometry questions using the right formulas straight away.

In a younger session, Chase (Year 4) was able to break down tough words by tapping out sounds—something he'd struggled with before—and then confidently spelled more than ten new words in one sitting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Blake seems to enjoy his tutoring so far, as you said it can take a few lessons to really get settled.

Only had one tutoring session at this stage however very helpful with an A+ outcome for maths exam on Friday.

Rick is the perfect tutor for Emily. She likes ths way he explains maths and gives her useful tips to help remember things. Emily is very happy and is starting to gain the confidence that she can improve her maths.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Playford Civic Centre Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Northern Adelaide Senior College.
