Engineering Studies Tutor Gawler, SA
To show compassion. We have all been where the student was once and understand some of the difficulties that they are facing learning the coursework for the first time. It is also very important that they are calm and focused during their studies and I believe it is the responsibility of the tutor to keep the student relaxed while working through…

Engineering Studies Tutor Blakeview, SA
The most important thing would be impacting knowledge and mentoring the students at the same time. Also making students to enjoy academics rather than seeing some subjects as stumbling blocks to their educational prospects. Ability to explain ideas, patience with slow learners and the ability to carry all students along during tutoring. I also…

Engineering Studies Tutor Munno Para West, SA
A tutor must provide enough time, guidance and have patience with their students so that they feel comfortable and ask doubts whenever they required. I enjoy my passion towards teaching and want my students not to have any fear towards any subject and I make learning easier for them by teaching the things their way, as every student has their own…

Inside Evanston GardensTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 12 student Tom worked through derivative rules—including chain and product rules—before starting integration techniques for calculus, using practice problems to consolidate understanding.

Year 11 student Sarah focused on discrete random variables, specifically Bernoulli and Binomial distributions, reviewing how probability models apply to real-world contexts.

For Year 8 maths, Alice practised Cartesian plane coordinates and calculated the area and perimeter of irregular shapes, supporting her skills with targeted worksheets and diagrams.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student often left major assignments, such as the Research Project, until the last minute—"leaves little time to polish," one tutor observed—which meant deeper analysis and reflection rarely happened.

In Year 4, a student did not complete assigned times tables homework, so arithmetic fluency lagged behind expected levels for their age group.

Meanwhile, in Year 10 algebra sessions, skipping written steps led to confusion with negatives and surds; "I can do this in my head" became a stumbling block when sign errors crept in.

When revision is rushed or incomplete, gaps persist into assessments.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Evanston Gardens recently saw Claire, a primary student, become much quicker with her times tables—last session, she worked through all the problems without pausing to count on her fingers, which had been a struggle before.

For Year 11, Jasmine has started tackling negative numbers and now volunteers to solve them on her own after weeks of hesitating whenever they came up.

In another session, Sam (Year 12) not only completed his Research Project PowerPoint but also received an A for it—a big step from earlier drafts where he needed significant prompting just to get started.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Shivani is doing well and Elyza is fantastic! Shivani appears to be very comfortable around Elyza and is building her confidence.

The tutoring seems to be going very well so far. We have been working on the areas Mohamed has indicated Charlotte needs extra help with and his report was very helpful in this regard.

Leon has made some extreme improvement over this Term. In the last 3 weeks he has achieved 5th and 2nd!!! in the class mathematics tests. This has improved his confidence immensely and he shows more enthusiasm in his tutoring sessions. Very happy with Jordan.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Evanston Gardens Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Evanston Gardens Primary School.
