I believe that being patient towards a student, while encouraging the student to be highly committed and willing to learn is very important for being a tutor. I also think that when tutoring, given the limited time available to teach each student, should also have a focus on helping the student learn methods and fully understand the topic to be…

Inside Grays PointTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Alex focused on solving equations involving brackets and verifying solutions, along with practice in linear equations.

For Year 10, Priya worked through the transformation of trigonometric functions—exploring amplitude, range, and period changes—and tackled function sketching problems.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Marcus completed advanced calculus questions using past exam papers and refined his skills with differentiation of exponential functions and their applications.

Recent Challenges

A Year 7 student arrived without their workbook, which meant lesson time was spent organizing materials rather than practicing new concepts.

In Year 11 Physics, a tendency to rush through problems led to missed signs and number errors—"she may miss transfer a sign or a number that leads to mistakes," as noted—despite otherwise solid timing.

A Year 9 learner's revision focused only on familiar material before exams, limiting exposure to complex problem types.

Meanwhile, a senior student hesitated to interrupt explanations when confused, causing lingering uncertainty until the end of sessions and slowing real understanding.

Recent Achievements

A Grays Point tutor recently noticed a Year 11 student begin to independently review her maths answers, carefully checking numbers and signs—something she'd previously rushed through and missed mistakes on.

In another session, a high schooler who used to hesitate when confused now interrupts the lesson to ask questions right away, making sure he understands tricky calculus steps as they come up.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 student surprised her tutor by confidently explaining how she solved a word problem aloud, showing new willingness to talk through her thinking without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

My son Ezra obtained an ATAR of 95.85 and was granted his first preference , Commerce and Mechatronics Engg. at Monash University. He obtained  a study score of 43 in Physics and 37 in Maths Methods. We are  grateful to your company for willing to send a suitable Maths and Physics tutor even after term 1, after we realised that that Ezra was having difficulty in Maths Methods. Your tutor was extremely patient , always on time and Ezra was able to discuss difficult concepts with him. We would definitely recommend your company to others.

Tutoring for EzyMath has been a rewarding and satisfying experience. It enabled me to develop my leadership and communication skills which are important ... The resources that EzyMath provided me with were excellent and made it easy when it came to selecting questions to work through. I have no hesitations in recommending EzyMath Tutoring to students who need some personalised help.

This is to let you know that I was happy with what Laura has learnt from the tutoring she received with Ezy Math.  Laura said she felt she had a better understanding of Math from those few lessons that she had.  The tutor was very thorough and we were grateful for his patience with Laura.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Miranda Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Grays Point Public School.
