I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to be continually assessing how the student is going and adapting their lesson to ensure the student is always progressing and is engaged. I also think it's really important to have a good relationship with the student so that they feel comfortable and confident in each session. I think my…

The most important aspects I can do for the student is being able to help the student outside of the lesson time with questions that they might have before an exam or even homework questions. My strengths as a tutor for me are that I am able to deliver the information in an understanding way in different methods to help the student understand. I…

The most important things a tutor can to is building a good rapport with the student. Student should not feel as if he/she is in some unfamiliar zone. Tutor can be their second parents in monitoring them, student should feel as if they are feeling great to learn new things in easy way. Tutor should not give up in any situation in dealing with…

I believe an important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be a person the student feels comfortable with in sharing their academic concerns, and helping the student realise their academic potential, becoming a person the student can look up to. Moreover, ensuring the student's academic improvement through simplifying concepts the student…

I've always said that a good teacher will help a student understand the work. A very good tutor will help a student find it within themselves to do the work. But i view myself as a great tutor, one that can do all of that, while actually inspiring the students. Im very patient, very organized, well spoken and persistent. Im a very hard worker, and…

One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is provide assistance as that is the main objective of being their tutor, mentally, academically and emotionally. I understand that being a tutor does not mean being a councellor and a supporting individual for the student but during hard and harsh times, I find it appropriate for the…

In my opinion, the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to personalise their learning in order to teach to the student’s strengths and minimise their weaknesses. I believe that different students have different learning styles and study techniques that work for them, and it is important that this is catered to in the students…

Inside Grays PointTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Alex focused on solving equations involving brackets and verifying solutions, along with practice in linear equations.

For Year 10, Priya worked through the transformation of trigonometric functions—exploring amplitude, range, and period changes—and tackled function sketching problems.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Marcus completed advanced calculus questions using past exam papers and refined his skills with differentiation of exponential functions and their applications.

Recent Challenges

A Year 7 student arrived without their workbook, which meant lesson time was spent organizing materials rather than practicing new concepts.

In Year 11 Physics, a tendency to rush through problems led to missed signs and number errors—"she may miss transfer a sign or a number that leads to mistakes," as noted—despite otherwise solid timing.

A Year 9 learner's revision focused only on familiar material before exams, limiting exposure to complex problem types.

Meanwhile, a senior student hesitated to interrupt explanations when confused, causing lingering uncertainty until the end of sessions and slowing real understanding.

Recent Achievements

A Grays Point tutor recently noticed a Year 11 student begin to independently review her maths answers, carefully checking numbers and signs—something she'd previously rushed through and missed mistakes on.

In another session, a high schooler who used to hesitate when confused now interrupts the lesson to ask questions right away, making sure he understands tricky calculus steps as they come up.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 student surprised her tutor by confidently explaining how she solved a word problem aloud, showing new willingness to talk through her thinking without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I really did get enjoyment out of helping the students understand theory that they didn't before, and it was satisfying each time they said "I get it now". I would recommend Ezy math tutoring to other tutors as they are very professional and they locate students that are close by to your home to reduce travel time. The interview process is very professional, leading to the quality of tutors of a high caliber.

We are incredibly impressed with our tutor, Serena.  She is a gifted and most dedicated teacher.  Her ability to extend our daughter has been remarkable and we are thrilled to have her continue with Miki.  Thanks for a wonderful program.

Thankyou to Ezymath tutoring for building up the confidence my daughter needed in preparation for high school this year. During year 7 she was falling behind and her self confidence was waning, causing her to panic about high school but in the few short months she received one on one tutoring at home, her confidence grew and she learnt how to tackle new problems and ask for extra help when needed. Having the extra help, in the comfort of our own home was a winning combination. She is now more confident about what this year holds for her and is looking forward to new challenges, knowing she is better equipped to handle them. If needed down the track, we won't hesitate to start up more tutoring sessions again.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Miranda Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Grays Point Public School.
