I believe the most important thing is to be well-prepared ahead of the session and have good knowledge of the subject. In addition to these, the tutor must be empathetic to the child's needs, effectively communicate and also tailor the teaching methods as every student is different and has varied learning needs and capabilities. This will also…

First of all, a teacher should be able to connect with the students. It does not matter whether it is just related of subject or related to any other examples. When students connect with the teacher, most of the times they are more comfortable in asking questions and understanding the concepts better. Secondly, a teacher should be smart enough in…

No doubt a teacher can have a long lasting impact on his students . By Spending long hours with your students, the one can easily become their role model, or perhaps their first platonic love. A teacher can help their student to form a healthy opinion of the world by asking a right question and giving them some food for thought. The passion for my…

The best thing any Tutor can do is make a student like a particular subject which she/he used to previously dislike. This means that the Tutor has made a boring subject interesting to the students. And in this way, the student will remember what he/she learns for a lifetime and not just for the purpose of examinations. I am a very patient Tutor,…

Daman was tutoring me in math to help me pass an army test and i ended up passing my test last week. He has helped me improve in math which I've been struggling with when growing up and as I will now be teaching myself improve more and more in math using his method as I believe it really helped me. I wouldn't have passed the test without him so hats off to this bloke.

Inside GreenvaleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Arjun reviewed perimeter and area of solids as well as worked through challenging integer questions.

In Year 9, Priya focused on data analysis by interpreting stem-and-leaf plots and plotting line graphs, also revising key statistics like mean and median.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 student, Josh, concentrated on networks—practising drawing network diagrams—and spent time consolidating knowledge for upcoming exams.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 mathematics, one student repeatedly looked back at notes instead of recalling terms independently during probability work—"he checked the book for every definition," making problem-solving slower.

A Year 11 student left several homework questions unfinished on volume and area, missing a chance to practice new methods before next week's topic shift.

Meanwhile, in a primary session, a student avoided writing out full working for long division due to fear of errors; as noted, "she rubbed out steps she wasn't sure about." This meant less feedback could be given on where her understanding broke down.

Recent Achievements

One Greenvale tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to rush through maths homework now double-checking answers and explaining her steps aloud, especially when tackling percentage discounts—a shift from earlier lessons where she'd skip working out.

Another recent win came from a Year 8 boy: after struggling with two-digit multiplication for weeks, he completed his assigned problems independently for the first time and even asked for more challenging ones.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student surprised her tutor by drawing diagrams to solve tricky worded maths questions—something she previously avoided—and finished all ten practice problems without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Rishi is great guy and working well with our son James. We realise it is early days but James is already more confident with his approach towards maths. Thanks for checking in with us. It is appreciated.

Anusheel been tutoring Ramin for a few sessions now and  as you said it will take a few months to notice. However, so far Ramin is happy. He is having his year 11 final exam this week and Anusheel is doing a good Job, thank you.

Hello Erica, Thanks for touching base. Isabella is great. She's gelled really nicely with Meg, who is already saying that for the first time she understands why things are done a certain way, rather than just being told to do it. I'll let you know if any issues arise but at this point I can't see any at this stage. Cheers

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Gladstone Park Community Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Greenvale Primary School.
