The most important thing a tutor can do for their student is to increase their confidence levels. This is because a student should be confident about a subject or topic they struggled with after the tutor has helped them through it so that the student themselves are able to replicate the process and adapt to similar questions without any struggle…

Well I believe the most important thing is to get the student to feel comfortable with what they're having trouble with as it will build their confidence and allow them to move on and do the work with minimal help. I am very passionate about Maths and enjoy doing it. I am very reliable, punctual, friendly and…

Inside GuanabaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Tiah worked through scatterplot graphing and finding lines of best fit, including calculating correlation coefficients for her maths assignment.

In Year 10, Daniel focused on applying the sine and cosine rules to solve worded trigonometry problems involving non-right-angled triangles.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Waimania revised balancing chemical equations for double and single replacement reactions in Chemistry and clarified angles of elevation and depression in trigonometry using textbook examples.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student often struggled to interpret multi-step algebra questions, leading to confusion about which variable to isolate—one tutor observed, "she skipped showing steps in rearranging equations, which hid sign errors."

In Year 10 Chemistry, a student hesitated to record key observations during practicals and missed out on using class notes for assignments, resulting in gaps when writing up reports.

For a senior Maths Methods task, one learner delayed starting her report and included limited rationale, leaving her unclear about assessment requirements.

When graphing in Year 7, skipping annotation meant vital coordinates were missed and answers left incomplete.

Recent Achievements

One Guanaba tutor noticed a big change in Waimania, a Year 11 student, who now starts her assignments much earlier after previously leaving chemistry tasks to the last minute—she's aiming to avoid stress next term.

In Year 10 maths, Daniel used to hesitate and make small mistakes because he wouldn't show his full working out, but recently he's begun drawing diagrams for worded problems and logically ordering his steps without prompting.

Meanwhile, a primary schooler has started openly asking for help instead of guessing when unsure about homework questions—a real shift from staying quiet before.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Mihika is doing very well with both Lachlan and Courtney, they are building up a rapport together and their exam results have been improved. It certainly has boosted their confidence and we they like their tutor.

I just wanted to thank you Ezymath for helping my son to understand the curriculum of year 10 math.  My son found his teacher would repeat the same thing over and by having an ezymath tutor he was able to hear it explained in a different way and as often as needed for him to understand it.  He came 2nd in his class and passed with confidence.  I also found our tutor to be reliable, responsible and patient and I will be calling again when my daughter needs help with her math, which will probably be earlier than year 10.  Thank you again for supplying a tutor so quickly.

Working for EzyMath tutoring gave me a sense of strong responsibility and a feeling of accomplishment. I felt as though I had not only taken up a teaching role, but a mentoring role as well. The staff are there to help if you need it as well as a strong community of colleagues to access for support. I would recommend EzyMath tutoring to any clients and fellow tutors.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Tamborine Mountain Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Tamborine Mountain State School.
