I believe that a chemistry tutor should be extremely cautious in what they say; can everything be supported with a logical statement? Because the steps the tutors take to construct the answer are how the students learn from them, a tutor must prepare well and be confident and knowledgeable of what they are giving to the students. It's not about…

The Important thing is to give students a sense of confidence in their ability. This will require the tutor to integrate complex ideas into simple, straightforward concepts. Once the student realizes their capability, they can endure failures, learn from mistakes and try again. My strength as a tutor is definitely my close and friendly…

In my opinion, a teacher must always be willing to learn those concepts for his students which they want to know. Also , a teacher must even provide them with some learning methods so that they can get grasp over any topic easily. Moreover, a teacher must always motivate a student and help him to think out of a box. Apart from that, teacher can…

I think patience is the most important skill a chemistry tutor can have. Some students don't understand a concept right away, I had to have a concept explained to me multiple times before and if the tutor was patient I was not scared to ask. I think as I have been tutored before I knew what worked for me and what didn't so I could apply those…

The most important thing a chemistry tutor can do is to be supportive. Even the students struggling the most always have something they're doing well. The tutors job is to highlight that and develop skills to transfer those proficiencies to other areas of the subject. Furthermore the tutor must be patient. A student is there because they need help…

The most important thing a chemistry tutor can do is to practice empathy in order to ensure the student knows they're in a safe environment where they are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them. Being kind and really listening to what they say to you is also essential, as you don't want them to feel like they can't talk to you, as this will…

Working with students can be a challenge, especially if we're meeting to help them bring up low grades. The best thing that a chemistry tutor can do for a student is not to regurgitate information - that can be found by reading a book, or browsing the internet; but to inspire. Inside GymeaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Talia worked through simplifying algebraic fractions and practiced changing the subject of equations, using step-by-step substitution.

In Year 10, Adam tackled sketching reciprocal and cubic functions as well as exploring transformations in the number plane with guided examples.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Alex focused on calculus by practicing differentiation from first principles and applying short methods to a range of function types.

Recent Challenges

During a recent Year 7 session, a student arrived without their book, requiring the tutor to provide extra materials and adjust the lesson flow.

In Year 11 Maths, one student worked quickly but "missed transferring signs or numbers," which led to calculation errors that were only caught during review.

Another Year 12 Physics student struggled to organize written work when tackling multi-step problems; this made it harder to spot where misunderstandings occurred.

A lack of regular homework completion was also noted in several cases—one Year 9 learner was given tasks for follow-up after not bringing finished practice questions.

Recent Achievements

One Gymea tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to lose marks for sign errors now double-checks her answers without prompting, after specific feedback on number accuracy.

In a recent high school session, another student who hesitated to tackle challenge questions in trigonometry began independently attempting the tougher problems and showed real persistence before asking for help.

A primary-aged learner, previously reluctant to review her own work, has started going back through completed maths exercises to catch and fix mistakes on her own initiative—last lesson she found and corrected two calculation slips herself.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I am very happy with Kavan, he is a great tutor, very patient and extremely intelligent.

We contacted Ezymath tutoring for assistance for my daughter in Year 12. From the start the company provided a professional and helpful service. Our tutor Tako was excellent. She was reliable, extremely knowledgeable, an excellent teacher and went over and above her hourly sessions. The format was formal with structured outline of each session with regular parent feedback. Would highly recommend this tutoring company.

I'd care to share something with you.  Whilst our son, Jordan has yet of course to complete his HSC and not wishing to tempt fate, his trials are over.  Last year, Y11 he received the award for #1 ranking in general maths.  Unfortunately his teacher moved overseas and let's just say the relationship between him and his new teacher wasn't as before.  His ranking swiftly dropped to sub 15!  To compound matters, 10 students during Y12 dropped down from 'advanced' to 'general' pushing Jordan's overall ranking to sub 20. Then we came to you for help.  Since Jordan has been studying with Suraj his standards steadily began improving once again and we're extremely happy to report that Jordan's overall trial's exam results pushed him up to 4th.  Remember, this included those who dropped down to 'general.'  Now that's a positive outcome.  Naturally, full credit must go to Jordan but without your assistance we would be facing a very different outcome.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Miranda Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Gymea Technology High School.
