Local Reviews

Initially I felt the tuition cost was a bit more than I was planning to spend on my daughter's maths tuition however Ezymaths tuitoring has been outstanding and worth every dollar. They were quick, efficient and flexible with excellent follow up. The tutor worked so well with my teenage daughter and she felt like it was very helpful. I was very impressed with this service.

Inside Halls HeadTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Jamie focused on adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators and worked through simple volume activities using visual aids.

In Year 8, Lily practised finding the surface area of square-based triangular prisms and reviewed key exam concepts related to rectangular prisms.

Meanwhile, Year 9 student Tom tackled algebraic techniques such as expanding brackets and solved linear equations step by step for improved understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student preparing for OLNA-style questions often skipped writing full working when adding and subtracting fractions, as one tutor noted: "He needs most assistance with showing working out when adding and subtracting."

In Year 10, a student analyzing test questions struggled with time management, sometimes rushing through multi-step problems without checking answers.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student's division homework was incomplete due to difficulty dividing large numbers without written steps—leading to confusion on similar test items.

When worded problems appeared in senior grades, overlooking details or missing units meant correct processes were hidden behind avoidable errors or unfinished responses.

Recent Achievements

One Halls Head tutor noticed a Year 11 student who previously hesitated to show his working now writes out each step for algebra and double-checks his answers without prompting.

In a recent high school session, another student who had struggled with trigonometry was able to choose the correct formula—sin, cos, or tan—for each problem independently after just one clear explanation.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 student has started speaking up when confused about fractions instead of staying quiet; she now asks for clarification as soon as she's unsure, which helped her confidently add fractions with unlike denominators in their last lesson.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

The tutoring is going tremendously well.  The system you use, the high level of communication and dependability shown by Nirvan, and the teaching style is working exceptional well.  I'm very impressed with your service, and its meeting my (high) expectations.  I fully appreciate that this is not a quick fix, and it takes time.  We're committed to continuing this throughout Term 3 and 4 at least. The support and patience Nirvan is showing is really helping Emily, and he is supportive and has the capacity to challenge her at the right pace.  I've asked her why some things that we've tried to work through before have made more sense when explained by Nirvan.  She said that he works at her pace and stays with something until she understands it. Many thanks.  Your back-office communications is also highly supportive of parents and whilst you're delivering on what you've clearly explained, I find your level of communication extremely professional, supportive and consistent.

The tutoring seems to be going well. I've asked Niamh and she is also very comfortable and happy with Ben. First maths test since her tutoring with Ben started and she received a mark of 90 so I think we're on the right track.

We are very happy with Kieren. Quinn thinks it's fun and Ronan, although he's very shy, is comfortable with Kieren.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Falcon Library & Community Centre—or at your child's school (with permission), like Halls Head College.
