Focus and to develop student interest is the main thing to teach students. Making time table for every activity that student cannot be bored but feel charm to do work activities. I believe that teachers/tutors make the greatest impact on a developing child or young adult's mind. Apart from the child's family, a teacher/tutor has the most influential face to face contact with a student, where it be as a mentor or as a friend. Hence, I strongly feel that tutors have the opportunity and responsibility to educate and develop a…

As a former student myself, I believe support is the biggest factor, and strength for students. Many students rely on the support, and help of their tutors, when faced with obstacles such as assignments, or upcoming exams. I believe, the most important thing, is for a tutor to be open, and understanding to the students' questions and school…

Establishing an environment that the student would be comfortable to learn in is important. Bailey has had a few lessons so far and he said it’s really helped. We’re planning to continue with the lessons and are more than pleased with Toni. She’s very punctual, professional and has great teaching methods. She’s an asset to your company and is making a big difference to both my kids.

Inside IngleburnTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 student Aleigha focused on fractions, symmetry, and time concepts in maths, as well as exploring nouns and adjectives in English through worksheets.

In Year 8, Aymen practised converting between fractions, decimals, and percentages and worked with statistics topics such as mean, mode, median, range, dot plots, and stem-and-leaf displays.

For Year 10, Sanjli tackled surd and indices by reviewing challenging homework questions before being introduced to functions—specifically domain and range—using targeted practice exercises.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 Mathematics, a student hesitated to attempt unfamiliar worded questions, as noted: "she got confused with bearings and placed the object north rather than south." This reluctance to engage fully led to skipped questions on tests and gaps in applying methods like completing the square.

In senior grades, inconsistent completion of homework—especially practice with quadratic functions and trigonometric identities—meant errors repeated across topics.

A Year 8 student struggled to keep summary notes updated before exams; "keeping on top of these would reduce pressure," a tutor observed. Small lapses in motivation sometimes stalled progress mid-question, leaving some solutions unfinished.

Recent Achievements

One Ingleburn tutor recently noticed a big shift in a Year 11 student's approach to mistakes: after previously getting discouraged by small errors, she now checks her working, accepts slip-ups as part of learning, and keeps moving forward—especially with challenging algebra and surds.

A Year 10 student who used to hesitate during class discussions is now asking more questions on their own and even summarising key science concepts in a shared doc for revision.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner surprised her tutor by recalling multiplication basics from previous sessions and completing times table practice with far less prompting than before.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Adam is great, very professional, organised, genuinely cares and Conan really likes him and enjoys attending.

We are very happy with Ammar and how Caleb and Elijah are progressing.  Ammar is very reliable and a great communicator.

My daughter is very happy with John, he is making it fun for her and they interact quite well. Very pleasant young man. Overall I am very happy with John and looking forward to my daughter  having a greater understanding in Math.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Greg Percival Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Ingleburn Public School.
