Finding gaps in a students knowledge and helping to fill them, facilitating a student to learn at their own pace and in their own way, and ensuring that the student can handle problems without my help once they've learned the concept. I'm good at not just teaching a student a concept, but making sure they fully understand it, even if that requires…

To effectively guide and help students, a tutor must be able to build trust with said student, fostering a sense of psychological safety whilst simultaneously encouraging self confidence and an intrinsic desire for success. Tutors must also be able to employ a personalised learning approach in order to ensure effective guidance for all…

Creating a good relationship with student: If a relationship of mutual understanding is created where the student and teacher can bounce ideas of each other and the student feels appreciated, the…

I think confidence is key, it’s not about rigorous testing, its about ensuring that they have confidence to solve the problem, focusing on teaching the method in different ways. ( E.g teaching a formula in maths based on step by step, visual and writing the instructions down in words) I never really had a normal study method and it really made…

A tutor is a guide to show the right path. Students might stumble a lot, but tutor should hold him up, stand by him and show the right direction. Never giving up on a student, looking for opportunities to advance their skill is what a tutor should always do. I try to explain things from the student's perspective. For example, a gamer might…

Aside from attempting to push the students academic abilities to new heights, I believe that a tutor can provide valuable insight regarding life as a whole. A tutor can guide students to achieve their goals, make them confident and sow seeds of morality and wisdom. EzyMath tutoring is highly recommended. From my initial communication with EzyMath they have delivered exceptional customer service. My daughter is already reaping the benefits of her fabulous tutor after only 4 one hour sessions. Her grade for her algebra topic test has improved by 30%! Can not speak highly enough of this company

Inside KareelaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Tia focused on measuring length and applying reading comprehension skills to short texts.

For Year 9, Josh worked through Pythagoras' theorem and indices problems using targeted revision questions.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Mia practiced solving linear equations and rearranging algebraic expressions, with extra attention given to breaking down multi-step processes for clarity.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 financial maths, a student hesitated to write out her working, especially when combining multiple steps—she generally knows what she is meant to do however, struggles when adding multiple steps together.

During Year 9 algebra sessions, another student skipped writing down rearrangement steps, leading to confusion with simple interest questions.

In a Year 7 division lesson, a lack of confidence saw one student avoid certain problems unless completely sure of the answer.

In each case, incomplete written working and avoidance after setbacks slowed progress—sometimes the page stayed blank just because an answer didn't come easily at first.

Recent Achievements

One Kareela tutor recently saw a Year 10 student, who had struggled with algebraic manipulation just two weeks ago, now solve equations and tackle geometry independently—she finished her quadratic problems without needing any hints.

In a Year 8 session, another student showed a real shift: after often rushing through fraction work and making small errors, he slowed down and started checking his steps, leading to correct answers when converting between mixed and improper fractions.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner who used to avoid reading out loud volunteered to read an entire passage during the session.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Ezy Math Tutoring is a company that I would comfortably work with again as it provided me with the opportunity to work with students commited to improving in the classroom. Ezy Math Tutoring is not only a company that aims to help students with their mathematics but goes above and beyond to help clients with their general student careers, through the Continuing Education Program modules that tutors are asked to go through with their students on a regular basis. I liked the purpose they served. Ezy Math Tutoring finds great importance in informing the parents about their childs progress. The monthly progress reports help busy parents keep up to date with the work being covered and the overall progress of their child, which was the main attraction for me. If you are seeking a professional service that provides results I would highly reccomend Ezy Math Tutoring to any of the parents and prospective tutors out there. 22nd July 2012

Ezy Math Tutoring provided me with a lot of support, resources and training during my time working for them. I found teaching the students very rewarding and seeing the improvement in results really made it worth it. I would definitely recommend Ezy Math Tutoring for both prospective clients and fellow tutors as each will benefit greatly from this service. 23rd July 2012

Ezymaths is a great place to work as tutors are provided with the combination of independence and assistance needed to further any students' education. 30th July 2012

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Sylvania Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Kareela Public School.
