Biology Tutor Woongarrah, NSW
The most important thing a tutor could do is create a safe environment for the student. Learning can be more comprehensive and explicit once the student is comfortable around their tutor’s presence. The tutor also must maintain and adhere to an elaborate study plan to help the student. I am very patient and would never snap even on being asked…

Local Reviews

My son is gaining much confidence since he has started with Pranshu, he mentions how he is able to understand the maths questions from his maths lesson in high school. He is very happy to continue with the tutoring and will just get a stronger understanding as the weeks of tutoring progress.

Inside KiarTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Kiar focused on equation manipulation and identifying similar triangles using diagrams.

In Year 9, Sam reviewed index laws and algebraic expansions from a recent test, then practised rearranging equations with multiple variables.

For Year 10, Ella worked through solving simultaneous equations by substitution and elimination methods, alongside tackling problems involving surds and simplifying radical expressions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 algebra, a student avoided writing out steps when solving equations with fractions, leading to sign errors and confusion; as one tutor observed, "skipping the layout hid where mistakes happened."

A Year 11 learner ran short on time during inequalities practice—test planning was rushed, so some questions were left unfinished.

In Year 3 maths, another student's written long addition work was hard to follow due to messy number placement; this made it tricky for both the tutor and student to track carrying.

These process gaps slowed progress and created frustration in real-time problem-solving.

Recent Achievements

A Kiar tutor recently noticed a big shift in Josh, a high schooler who'd struggled with algebra for weeks; after working through substitution in simultaneous equations, he started catching his own mistakes and even explained his previous errors out loud.

In another session, Ruby (Year 3) figured out how to add numbers above five without using her fingers—a leap from relying on counting hands last month.

Meanwhile, a senior student who used to guess quietly during trig lessons now confidently asks about the right trigonometric ratio before tackling unknown sides, showing she's more willing to engage directly with the process.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thank you for your email received today. I am very pleased to report that we are very impressed with Minh and his approach to tutoring our son. Minh is a very responsible and passionate teacher, we feel his enthusiasm will promote Elijah-Taye to the required level in a reasonable time frame.

Thank you for your follow up.  Ty is progressing well and we are all happy with the way things are going (mum, dad and Ty).  Apart from the normal issues, that sometimes he just 'doesn't feel like it' at the beginning of the session, he enjoys the tutoring and is gaining benefits already.  Though Ty has always had quite a good understanding of Maths, the idea of tutoring was to keep him at his best.  He was complaining of not understanding his teacher this year, so the different ways of thinking and and ways of teaching are definitely helping. I am happy with Sheetal and his dedication to his tutoring, even ringing Ty to check his progress before an assessment.  This is not something that I was expecting, but is a welcome addition as I see it helping Ty keep focused as well.

Thanks for the email. We are very happy with Lisa. She is bright and keen and has established a very easy rapport with Xiao. Xiao actually really likes her. We feel very confident that Xiao will continue to make progress with her maths.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Lake Haven Library & Council Services—or at your child's school (with permission), like Wyee Public School.
