The most important thing that a tutor can do for their students is to build a relationship. This foundation will help students to have a trust in their tutor and this will encourage them to share their problems. If the tutor understands the exact problem the student is struggling with, then they can alter their teaching techniques according to…

Help them learn in a different way! Help them see things from a different perspective! As a Queer non-binary writer, I can introduce them to new thoughts and ideas around certain traditional aspects of writing and reading. What I want is for my students to walk away with even more understanding of their certain topic/study area and that they…

Personally, when I was a student the most important effect of good teachers and tutors was regaining confidence in myself. They showed me that it was okay to fail, how to bounce back, and how to learn from my mistakes. Having a strong education is a wonderful thing, but having been through the whole K-12-Uni-Workforce pipeline by far the best…

I believe the most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to be a great role-model. It is not only about teaching the content, but most importantly being a positive influence. My career goal whether it is engineering or teaching is to contribute to people in need so that they feel a sense of confidence and fulfilment in what they do.…

Tutors have to be cooperative and empathetic to teach students. Moreover, they need to embody leadership qualities. It is necessary for the students to enjoy learning so that they can have a complete grasp of knowledge about a particular subject. This will allow them to achieve their desired results. I think a tutor should be able to have the necessary resources for a student. Extra learning content that students can’t easily retrieve should be available with tutors. I am in a position to provide those resources. I am patient, and I am kind and try to teach in ways that they will enjoy. I also have tricks that I would love to share since…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is listening to them to truly understand what their needs and goals are. I also think it is important for a tutor to establish a link with the student, to make the lesson less "formal" and more enjoyable for the student as he/she would learn better if the environment is less stressful. As I am…

I think that it is imperative for the tutor to try their hardest to create a passion for the subject in the student, as this will motivate them to try as hard as they can. The most important things a tutor can do for a student, in my opinion, are not only concrete plans and a sufficient level of knowledge, but also empathy to understand what the student needs and their natural ability. A tutor, in my opinion, is not someone who places a high level of math practise in the hands of an art student who dislikes math. A…

I believe that making students understand the way to answer question is very important. Problem-solving skills are what they really need in the future instead of helping him to solve them. Moreover, to make them enjoy studying the subject is crucial as well. If you hate the subject, you can never do well on it. Providing students with guidance is…

A tutor has the opportunity to shape a students' mind, in more ways than one. Therefore, the most important thing a tutor can do is to make the best use of this opportunity and let the student discover the best version of themselves. Inside KyeemaghTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 Sasha focused on algebra questions and consolidating her understanding of positive and negative integers through targeted practice.

Year 9 sessions with Liam addressed trigonometric ratios, including basic applications of sine, cosine, and tangent, as well as graphing these functions.

For Year 11 student Emily, recent lessons explored quadratic equations—covering both factorising techniques and use of the quadratic formula—plus applied skills to real-world problem scenarios.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Mathematics, a student did not attend the scheduled online lesson despite reminders; as noted, "sent her texts and emails before the class, which she has not replied." This gap disrupts progress on planned tutorials.

Meanwhile, in Year 9 Algebra, incomplete homework was an issue: "must take his homework seriously, otherwise he will suffer the consequences of poor results."

A Year 8 student erased working out repeatedly rather than showing full steps—"erases work with an eraser instead of keeping working out"—making it harder to pinpoint misunderstandings during problem-solving.

Missed feedback and hidden errors slow improvement in both cases.

Recent Achievements

One Kyeemagh tutoring session saw a Year 10 student independently catch a calculation error before the tutor did, showing real engagement rather than just following along—he used to be more passive with problem-solving.

In another high school example, a student who had previously skipped writing down her maths working now consistently records every step and talks through her reasoning out loud.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner tackled mixed numerals for the first time and was eager to attempt challenging questions on her own, asking for extra practice worksheets without prompting.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Brighton-Le-Sands Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Kyeemagh Public School.
