Be welcoming, let them know it’s ok to struggle and feel so lost. I have been there, I have struggled with classes and overcome it, and understand how reframing concepts helps with understanding and i get the satisfaction in finally achieving marks. I also am so welcoming and approachable and empathetic for the…

Modern History Tutor Secret Harbour, WA
I consider helping a student improve their grades is the most important thing a tutor could do for a student. That or helping a student gain a better understanding about the subject they are being tutored on. I am able to explain topics a person is struggling with in more detail, in a way that is able to be understood easily. I have knowledge in a…

Modern History Tutor Golden Bay, WA
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is make them feel like they are being spoken with, not spoken to. They need this so they can feel included in the discussion of learning, and not like they are being belittled for not knowing as much. I am very good at learning the best way to help someone and am able to find that way and show…

Modern History Tutor Silver Sands, WA
As a tutor helping students feel confident in themselves and their ability to overcome difficult tasks and assignments is crucial. Empowering students and watching them grow is the most important part of being a tutor I'm very patient and am completing my bachelor of Education where we are learning how to make the scsa curriculum exciting. I'm…

I've had Kamran for several sessions now, and I would say he is one of the best tutors I've had. He explains things in a way that's very educational and helpful. A session with him goes by very quick and doesn't feel like work at all. A+

Inside LakelandsTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Lucas worked on comparing fractions and percentages, focusing on real-world applications.

In Year 9, Sarah explored solving quadratic equations and practiced graphing quadratics by hand to strengthen understanding.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Daniel revised trigonometric identities and tackled unit circle problems using step-by-step diagrammatic explanations.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student, while capable with calculations, often left algebraic steps incomplete—needs to pay attention to silly mistakes and spend time double checking solutions, as noted in one session.

In Year 7, messy or rushed working on fraction simplification led to repeated confusion when converting answers to percentages.

A senior student in trigonometry relied heavily on tables for unit circle problems but struggled to label axes and pick appropriate scales when graphing.

During a Year 4 maths task, a reluctance to check intermediate steps meant errors in long multiplication persisted into final answers, making revision less effective.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Lakelands noticed a Year 10 student who used to struggle with trigonometric graphs now confidently draws sine and cosine waves, using the unit circle without needing prompts.

In Year 11, one student who'd often skip steps when calculating compound interest is now working through full solutions independently and catching their own errors.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 learner recently started annotating stem-and-leaf plots on their own after previously hesitating to participate in class discussions.

Just this week, another high schooler finished all ten questions on a simultaneous equations worksheet without asking for hints.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Once again I really appreciate your help over the last few months. The structured format that EzyMaths brings to tutoring appears to provide a clear framework and guidelines for the tutors to work within. Combined with a really outstanding young tutor in Calvin this has had been very beneficial for Dom. I congratulate you on a great model and wish the business success for the future.

Shay is really enjoying the tutoring and Ben is a great tutor.  She is already improving in her maths, which was the objective.  Shay even does her extra math homework without argument which is amazing .  We look forward to working with Ben for the rest of this term and next year.

I would like to inform you that Paul did his last session with Vik on Sunday 11.Nov 2012. I have to mention that he did a fantastic job of teaching Vik the two subjects maths & physics, and also helping him understand how VCE works. Thank You for keeping me well informed about my son's progress. I would have no hesitation to recommend you & Paul to any of my friends or anyone who needs help from a tutor. Wishing you all the best in the future.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Lakelands Library and Community Centre—or at your child's school (with permission), like Coastal Lakes College.
