Although it is highly important that a physics tutor teaches their students the material covered in the syllabus, it is equally as important that the tutor teaches their students the tools required to succeed in a competitive academic environment. As a tutor, I instil in my students a great work ethic, teaching them highly effective study and time…

Fundamentally, a physics tutor must be able to pass on their knowledge to students such that they can progress academically. This should be accompanied by helping and testing the students where necessary. I prefer to break down complex concepts into smaller ideas, which can then be used as a foundation for understanding and applying the actual…

We were delighted with the service Mahmud provided. He worked very well with Daniel and was cheerful and calm.

Inside LedaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Elliot practised finding area and perimeter of composite shapes, worked through unit conversion problems, and completed a symmetry worksheet; for English, he built spelling skills and explored sentence starters for essays.

Year 8 student Stella focused on graphing linear equations and converting decimals to percentages and fractions as part of exam preparation.

In Year 9, Danica tackled solving basic algebraic equations and applied this understanding to worded algebra problems to deepen her grasp of the topic.

Recent Challenges

Leaving maths homework incomplete meant class time was spent revisiting the same concepts rather than progressing ("if he doesn't complete his homework, we have to revise the same concepts in class again").

Written work was often messy and hard to follow—especially on multi-step problems—which made it difficult for her to spot calculation errors and slowed down her problem-solving.

An over-reliance on calculators led to gaps in mental arithmetic, especially during non-calculator tasks in tests.

Recent Achievements

A recent Leda tutoring session saw a Year 10 student, Danica, show real growth in her ability to solve algebraic equations; she now completes most questions independently after initially needing step-by-step guidance.

In Year 7 maths, Elliot has begun actively asking for help when stuck instead of quietly guessing—he recently used this approach to master mental maths problems he found challenging last term.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth in Year 4 tackled word problems involving decimals with much less prompting than before and finished the final set on her own by the end of the lesson.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thanks for your note. It seems to be off to s good start. We appreciate maths coaching and look forward to seeing Louisa and India work together.

As far as I know, the tutoring is going well. They actually meet at Sydney University library as it is a handy meeting point for both of them and a good place for them to work. I believe that they have a good understanding between them but I will talk to Georgina again today after her lesson.

Andrew is a great tutor, always on time & he is a very polite young man. He is very good at explaining & teaching Georgia short cuts. They get on well which helps & she is happy learning maths.

Physics tutoring in Leda

For students doing physics, demands quickly become complex. While real-life problems tend to be hard to comprehend, it's also when students depend on logical thinking the most.

It's pretty straightforward, to master a subject, students need to be challenged and that means struggling from time to time.

As your child moves up the curriculum you might have already thought about offering additional support. You might have even looked for physics tutor in Leda or somewhere close so you can easily fit it into your busy schedule. But you might have also been unsure what to look for.

Physics Tutor Leda

This is what we do best. This is where we can help.

All we need is to have a chat with you and we can start looking for a suitable tutor who can support your child's academic progress.

Every student learns in their own way and at their own specific pace. Once we know a little bit more about the student we can find a great tutor who'd really click with your child.

Once you reach out to us we can allocate a local Leda physics tutor within a day or two. They set up the first lesson whenever you and your child can make it.

If you like the tutor's approach you keep working with them. You are not completely happy with the match? No worries, it happens sometimes. We consider it a trial lesson and find a better match.

Sounds good?

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Kwinana Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Leda Primary School.
