Make a connection so the student wants to study. It’s very important that you create a bond with the student so they can motivate themselves and use the study plans and tools to improve with not only my help but also on their own. I believe this heavily aligns with the philosophy that Ezy math promotes. I’m a patient and capable teacher who…

Tutoring is a form of specialised teaching, and two-way communication is fundamental to successful teaching. It is easy to talk at a child to teach them a concept on a basic level, but patience, asking the child questions and listening to their responses effectively are essential elements in ensuring the student understands the content. From many…

A tutor can spend time with students so that they can understand what the problem is. Moreover, a tutor is a person with whom every student feels safe, and they share everything, so the tutor must be calm and teach everything in a fun way. I think a tutor has to cater their teaching methods according to particular students. For example, if you find that the student best learns by a tactile approach, I would recommend using more activities that help them learn rather than just working through questions on a piece of paper. I think this can make a big difference in the student's…

A successful tutuor does more than merely help a student to raise their grade. In my opinion, a tutor should make an impression on a student. Having had the privilege of being led by an inspirational tutor in the early stages of my High School experience, I seek to emulate this role, by sharing with students the importance of learning. A…

Inside LynwoodTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Lucy focused on revising multiplication and division skills, practising multi-digit problems to build confidence.

For Year 10, David worked through probability concepts including measures of spread, two-way tables, and Venn diagrams in preparation for an upcoming class test.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Molly tackled differentiation techniques and their real-world applications in Mathematics Methods, reinforcing her understanding with practice questions from past exams.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student did not regularly review past assessment tasks or consolidate topics like permutations and proofs in Mathematics Specialist, despite heavy subject demands. As one tutor observed, "practice with connecting equations to concepts was limited," which made it harder to link methods efficiently under exam conditions.

In Chemistry (Year 12), there was a pattern of avoiding deeper revision on chemical bonding and acid-base theory; feedback from previous tests wasn't always integrated into new work.

Meanwhile, a primary student often left homework incomplete and avoided subtraction worksheets—missed practice led to more frustration with multi-step problems when they appeared unexpectedly in sessions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Lynwood reported that a Year 11 student who previously needed reminders to check his work now completes chemistry practice problems with almost no help, confidently linking ideas between acid-base reactions and intermolecular forces.

In a recent session, a Year 7 student who once hesitated to attempt harder multiplication questions tackled all the 2-digit by 2-digit multiplication tasks on her own, showing much more initiative than before.

Meanwhile, one younger learner who used to rush through addition is now taking time to double-check answers and has improved accuracy, recently scoring 88% on an addition test.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Austin is a positive, helpful young man who was very polite and knew his stuff. I would highly recommend him.

Tutoring is going well and Nick and Charlie are a great match! Nick has already made a great connection with Charlie.

Minh aka Truc has been fabulous in the short amount of time I have worked with her. She really has given me the confidence I needed to have a better mindset going in to an exam. From the start she was approachable and understanding. I never felt like I was being judged, she was able to answer all my questions with an explanation on how she got the answer.
