This is where the tutor jobs come in and provide a customized learning experience that is ideal and unique to each student. Tutors are like safety inspectors where they 1. Recheck their…

Be encouraging and supportive, understanding that mistakes and errors are a part of the learning process. Additionally, tutors should encourage a lot of questions from the student. Tutors should also not generalise their teaching but rather tailor it to each student, and if possible make it enjoyable. Lastly, it is important to be on the same page…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is help build their confidence. A student is able to do anything, learn anything but only if they believe that they can do it or learn it. I believe that for difficult subjects it is the job of the tutor to break the problem down into bite size steps for the student to grasp. This may not always happen at college and requires a good private tutor. As your tutor, I would assist in explaining concepts you may have difficulty understanding or simply improve your ability, knowledge or…

To adapt your teaching depending on the student, making sure that they understand. It is also very important to be patient and understanding. Tutors can regurgitate the curriculum back to students exactly how most high school teachers do, however I don't think this is a great strategy. Tutors are given the opportunity to have 1 on 1 time with students, which has a much greater influence on the pupil. Tutors can use these sessions to accelerate their students learning, and ultimately…

Local Reviews

We are travelling around Australia with our 11 year old daughter, and needed just a little help with homeschooling. I had previously downloaded the free yr 6 maths worksheets ( which were great), and so when we decided to get some extra help, Ezymaths was my first call ( even though I had done significant research into other providers). From the first call, right through to now, after roughly 10 hours of online tutoring, the whole experience has been outstanding!! The staff at Ezymaths have been friendly and helpful, and our tutor, Jessica, is brilliant with our daughter who really looks forward to the sessions. Because of our travelling, we were unable to commit to a set schedule, but Jessica and the team have been great and very accomodating with booking sesssions to suit. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND EZYMATHS TO ANYONE CONSIDERING TUTORING SERVICES........ especially if you are travelling!

Inside Main BeachTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Eden focused on subtraction strategies and then practiced translating word problems into mathematical equations.

In Year 9, Ava worked through exam revision covering geometry and linear algebra using recent practice tests.

For Year 12, Michael prepared for assessment by tackling optimisation problems—calculating maximum area with second derivatives—and reviewing differentiation rules like the product and chain rule.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Specialist Maths, a student hesitated to double-check answers during practice tests, missing small errors that "could be easily corrected," as one tutor noted.

Another Year 10 student tackling simultaneous equations struggled to organize their working, sometimes skipping the step-by-step layout and getting lost in calculations.

In English (Year 9), cohesion between ideas and adapting new writing styles remained a challenge—paragraphs didn't always flow logically, which affected clarity.

Meanwhile, a primary-level learner found it difficult to translate word problems into equations without concrete aids; this reliance slowed progress on abstract tasks and made independent problem solving harder.

Recent Achievements

One Main Beach tutor noticed a big shift in a Year 11 student who, after previously getting stuck on mock test questions, independently searched for the trapezoidal rule and used it successfully to solve a challenging problem.

In another session, a Year 9 student who used to avoid sharing her reasoning started talking through domain and range questions out loud and checked her work using definitions, showing real initiative.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner who'd relied on rote learning for multiplication was able to spot patterns in timestables and use concrete objects to translate word problems—she finished the lesson by explaining her process without prompts.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thank you, the feedback I got from Michael is that the tutor Gavin is great and quite understanding.

Just letting you know how happy Jack is with Yuta. He's so lovely, friendly and polite and  has been  great helping Jack with his maths. Jack understands the way Yuta explains things and is much more confident with his maths now. So far this year Jack has been struggling with maths and his marks have been in the 40% range. Since the tutoring with Yuta started, Jack has sat for his Year 11 Yearly Exam in which he got 70%  which is a great improvement, so he was really happy about that and feels that with continued tutoring he can improve a little more. Jack would like to continue tutoring with Yuta  after the school holidays when school resumes, so we will keep in touch and book in again once Jack receives his new Year 12 Timetable. Thankyou.

So far Adriana has only had the 2 lessons because Aathi had to cancel an appointment and we couldn't have a lesson this past Monday because of school holidays so this Monday we're having 2 lessons to try and catch up . Adriana absolutely loves Aathi which surprised me because she hates maths but he's won her over already so I have a good feeling about this. thankyou

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Southport Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like The Southport School.
