I think tutor should do everything for his or her students because after the parents only teacher is one person who can very closed for the student. Tutor should look after their students and if they have any bad habit then it's tutor responsibility to guide them in right direction and also inform their parents. Tutor can make hard subject into…

First, the tutor should find innovative ways of teaching learning and different methodologies and engage them so that their learning happens in the best way possible. A tutor should focus on practice and assessments. He/she can share the tips and techniques on how to study…

I think a tutor can bring out the inner talent of a student. Suppose a student who could not able to gain a good marks in exams or failing continuously, I will give that student mental support. I will give him or her motivation by telling that you can achieve anything in your life by doing hardworking. The most important thing is that a tutor can…

In my opinion, the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to break a concept down to its simplest form. In my school days, I often found this to be the easiest way to learn. If your basic foundation of any concept is strong, it gets much easier to build on that and learn more complex information pertaining to it. Moreover, being…

I think the most important things a tutor can do are to make the student feel understood, build their confidence, and explain concepts in a way that truly makes sense to them. As someone who is still a student myself, I know how overwhelming things can get, so I try to create a comfortable space where they are not afraid to ask questions or make…

The most import things that a tutor can do for a student are : # I can be a good listener , as sometimes its hard to explain again and again. # A tutor should make a good bond with the student so he can ask any doubt. # Instead looking at the strengths of a student , tutor should look for the weaknesses and should start preparing the student…

Always be on the same wavelength with your students. If they're comfortable around you, Maths will easily find the path to their hearts. Make compliments and specify their strong points, pay attention to their success - that is how we learn and stay in a good mood at the same time. Tutors have two roles, One is to actively support the student who might be struggling to cope up with their peers and/or looking to improve their performance. The second is to make the student learn in a different environment from their school. Schools have multiple children and every child has some issue they are facing. As a tutor sitting 1-1…

Inside ManningTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Charlie focused on solving linear equations, including those involving fractions and progressively challenging questions.

For Year 9, Mae worked through stem-and-leaf plots and explored measures of central tendency using real data sets.

Meanwhile, Year 5 student Sarah practiced converting between fractions, decimals, and percentages, applying these skills to everyday ratio problems.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student arrived without a formula sheet, which meant advanced chemistry problems couldn't be attempted; "we had to stick to basic practice," as noted.

In Year 8 maths, missed homework was highlighted twice before the break—2.5 hours set but not yet completed.

For a Year 10 English essay, facing the full draft caused overwhelm: ideas stalled until structure was broken into smaller steps.

During Year 9 algebra, skipping written working led to sign errors in linear equations that went unnoticed at first glance. In these moments, confidence dipped and momentum slowed as gaps became more visible.

Recent Achievements

One Manning tutor noticed that Mae, a Year 10 student, has started to persist with 3D geometry problems despite previously sharing how much she struggled to visualise them—last week, she worked through half and quarter cylinder questions without giving up.

Charlie (Year 11) had been making small errors in coordinate geometry but recently completed a full set independently of complex ratio and backwards-solving tasks for the first time.

In English, a high school student who was often hesitant about essay writing produced a solid response on their own and began asking for new strategies to tackle exam questions.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Manning Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Manning Primary School.
