Help a student to believe in themselves academically and give them the confidence to approach any problem even if they don't immediately know the solution. I am very patient, understanding, empathetic and resourceful. I try to explain a concept in a way that I think would be easiest for the person to understand and simplify it before adding on…

The thing I consider to be most important as a tutor is the ability to be able to help built the student's confidence so that even after tutoring, they will have the skills to apply in further studies. This is because I believe that rather than being goal-oriented, gaining the skills is far more valuable. As a tutor, one of my biggest strengths is…

Inside MaudslandTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Tiah worked on scatterplot graphs and finding lines of best fit for her maths assessment, as well as calculating correlation coefficients to interpret data relationships.

In Year 10, Daniel practiced applying the sine and cosine rules to solve worded trigonometry problems and reviewed linear equations, including how to find gradients from graphs.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Mani focused on solving quadratic equations by both factorising and using the quadratic formula, alongside revising internal diagonal lengths in 3D shapes.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 algebra, one student struggled to rearrange equations for "x" and often skipped reading questions carefully, leading to confusion—"does not backcheck at times so instilling this would help solve small errors."

In senior Chemistry, a Year 11 student felt uncertain about balancing equations and avoided writing out working when unsure, slowing her progress in revision before the final assessment.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 student preparing an assignment did not take written notes on key graph observations during lessons; this made it harder for her to organize thoughts later while drafting her report.

Recent Achievements

One Maudsland tutor saw a Year 11 student start her maths assignment early, after last term's stress from leaving things late.

In a recent session with a Year 10 student, the tutor noticed she now draws diagrams for tricky problems without being prompted—something she used to avoid, which is really helping her accuracy.

A younger student in Year 6 who'd struggled with ions last time managed to clearly explain both cations and anions this week, showing she could apply what she'd learned by getting every example right on her own.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Gerard is doing a wonderful job, Jessica is comfortable expressing her difficulties with certain areas of Maths and Gerard is able to assist easily.

Our experience with Ezy Maths has been excellent. Most importantly the maths tutor you supplied was exceptional. She kept my daughter motivated and facilitated improved results to the point where we now only call for help on occasion rather than every week. The payment method is easy and I would recommend your company without hesitation. The regular feedback on progress was professional and you were always a pleasure to deal with.

Again, I would just like to say Justin's work with Connor was amazing. In such a short period of time Connor has managed to gain confidence in maths from his time spent with Justin. We are so grateful that your organisation matched the tutor and the nature of the student perfectly. Funny as it may sound, maths is no longer Connor's nemesis. Ezy Maths is fortunate to have such a patient and understanding tutor as Justin, we wish him every success for the future.
